Hey Growmie, If its already turning brown it's dead already. Normally after soaking for 2 days and placing them in paper towel if after 4-5 days it doesn't show any sign of a tap root its not viable. Typically trichomes start developing shortly after flowering begins, with slight variances depending on the strain. you need a jewler's loupe in order to get a good look at em. Happy growing.
