WEEKLY SUMMARY:
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
🙋♀️Fo' Twenny here!🙋♀️
Back with another update on our mostly Indica cultivar, 👹🌈 MONSTER ZKITTLEZ bred by MONSTER GENETICS!!! This girl is one of the smallest in the SOG, but she's still healthy and happy with nice thick stems and close internodal growth. This will be my first experience with growing or smoking Skittlez genetics. I am really looking forward to watching progress through flower. Stay tuned to see how she develops!
STRATEGY: To keep our MONSTER ZKITTLEZ cultivar and her White Dutch Clover cover crop hydrated between feeds, every other day or so (as needed), she gets about 4 - 6 oz of plain filtered water pH adjusted between 6.2 and 6.6. This is sprayed evenly around the top of the medium using a 32 oz ZEP Professional sprayer. This has allowed me to minimize feeds to about one a week eliminating the need to mix my reservoir twice a week. Since she is mid stretch, I am keeping defoliation to a minimum, no more than 5-10% of the plants foliage in a week. I am only removing lower shoots that will only end up yielding larf as well as mature fan leaves (my definition of mature fan leaves: petioles of 1.5-2" and typically below the top three nodes of a growth shoot) that are facing inward towards the main stem. Next week will be focused more on those fan leaves that are excessively shading neighboring plants along with the lower leaves on any shoots left on the plant. Typically, the first 2-3 nodes of smaller growth shoots yield much smaller nugs. That said, on any remaining smaller growth shoots, I plan to remove those lower leaves and bud-sites early. This will also help with airflow and light penetration. I will not trim more than 25% of leaves per week. I actually stay closer to 15-20% per week or less while in flower, depending on the cultivar. I'm practicing some very light LST techniques. GENTLY bending stems to encourage even well-balanced growth intended to open the plants' center up for even light penetration and airflow. The goal is to evenly balance her growth within her 1'x1' footprint and avoid crowding herself or others.
Any advice, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are always welcome.

@CheckThoseTrichs, I just started using it, to be honest. These seedlings are the first time I've used without other innocclants. Other than a little staining on the leaves, they seem to be happy. Definitely not doing any harm. I had really good germination rates. The only 2 beans that haven't germinated were the Jenny Kush that were gifted from a friend. Not breeder packaging or anything. So, who knows if it may have just been the way they were stored. Sorry that I can't give a more definitive response, but I see a lot of people using it with good results.
@MrJones, I just put in an hour and a half on trimming. Now to shower and off to bed! Thanks for your concern, friend!! Sometimes I need reminders to stop... I just like getting everything done before I relax. Don't mind me, I am the crazy bud lady! 🤪
@FoTwenny, Limit of what? Where? Because here there is no limit at all!!! 🤣
You can have one or you can have 50 but but that just make things worse! Illegal all the way....😪😪😪😪
@MrJones, Pro Tip... I took the bag of white clover seed and put them in a spice container to easily sprinkle onto the soil. Keeps it water tight, prevents spills, and makes it easy to apply! Good luck and happy growing!
@Mrgreengenes, Thanks for the kind words! Life has happened and I haven't been to active here as of recently. That said, the Blueberry was a very nice strain, but the phenotype I got didn't have the terps I was really looking for. I will definitely grow out more of these seeds to hopefully find the pheno I am looking for. I have a few blueberry beans from other breeders too, so I will keep searching until I find the terps I am looking for!
@FoTwenny, Hi , I couldn't find your final comments or harvest report on the dutchman blueberry strain you grew out. I had a similar experience with the seedsman strain as you did but love the colors on the dutch strain and was wondering if you got the smell and taste that you were looking for ? I am a fan of the old school blueberry and am looking for the best genetics available currently.
Thanks , BTW amazing job you do on your grows.. Rock on!
This whole run you're doing is next level. Great pics, great updates, most importantly beautiful and healthy plants. I'm envious of your consistency but inspired to get my game at that level. Outstanding work FT. 😀
@Treighfunky, That j you very much! It's nice to hear the appreciation for my hard work. Idk if anyone noticed, but when I have time, I've been taking photos before and after pruning. Just to help others and for those with more experience can give me constructive criticism. Thanks again for stopping by! Happy growing!
