Sprouted seeds from Jiffy pellets placed on plastic container lid and container over the top like a dome. Seeds sprouted well with Candy Kush lagging about 12 hours behind Speedy Chile since sprouting. Roots were popping out of the Jiffy pellets within 12 hours of sprouting, so they must have been looking for air. The Jiffy pellets may have been too wet. Because of the fast rooting, I wasn't able to properly soak the BioBizz AllMix soil before potting in 500ml pots. The soil got about 10hrs of soaking before receiving the JIffy pellets. Kept the plants moist with a spray bottle for the first few days, but changed to adding 100ml of water plus a light spray along the edges of the pot to keep everything moist on day 5. The soil was initially a little bit low, so some properly soaked soil was added to top dress the pot and cover the stretchy stems and the slightly exposed Jiffy pellets. Temperature has been an issue this week, occasionally reaching as high as 33C in the tent. Outside temps have been in the 30s Celcius, so it has made it difficult to control the heat. I added a wet rag to the intake port on my tent to cool the incoming air a bit more and it has helped a lot, lowering temps to as much as 2.5C below lung room temp. Putting the extractor fan out of the window was another major help as well. Finally, I had my best night's temp yet by leaving the tent door open with the interior fan running during the lights on time. This won't be ideal at later times, but it does the trick in this heat wave as we go into fall. All in all, after a week of dialing in my setup and understanding the mechanics of it all, I'm feeling a lot more confident about the grow and the seedlings are looking happy.

2 plants in 0.5L pots in BioBizz AllMix. Using tap water. Both have twisted/incomplete new growth with strange texture and discoloration on some lower leaves. Suspicion: 1. Very soft water-> CalMag deficiency. 2. Low humidity ~25-35%. 3 Need to pot up (planned to do it this week)

These plants have been topped/LSTd. They're 5 weeks old in their final 7L pots. I'm thinking they're about ready to flip in the coming week, but I'm open to opinions on if I should wait more. Also, defoliation before flower: Skip it? Do it? If yes, then how much and where from?

Hey there Tiny Couch, you're absolutely right that they're ready to be flipped, that much you can tell by the new growth happening . Still though with a topping which is a HST , i would say try to aim for an average veg of 7 to 8 weeks. Topping can really reduce your yield, that's what folks dont realise. 5 weeks is very short for veg, but because of watching folks do it online it got kind of normalised lol The difference in yield for a short veg of up to 5 weeks and an average veg of up to 7 weeks is really quite huge, and in my personal opinion it's totally worth it if you have few plants. Go for 8 weeks even, that's not even a long veg, not really. Hope this helps ! 🚀

@CRiSPrGrow, thanks for your advice! 👊 They were topped two weeks ago and have had consistent growth and LST since then, so I was thinking they would have recovered by now...? I'll admit that I am a bit impatient to move on to the next stage, but more than that, I was worried about letting them veg too long to where they end up outgrowing their small pots during the stretch. I'm not looking for a massive yield. An ounce off each plant will be plenty for my consumption, but the more, the better of course. Is the potential of outgrowing the pots something I should be worried about if I let them go another 2 weeks in veg?

Change humidity to 55/65% and temperature between 23-26 ºC it's really important in the vegetative stage.

@Tosca, Thanks for the tips! I've gotten better control of the humidity this week. I don't want to buy a humidifier, so I just spray water into the tent a 4 or 5 times a day to give them a good dose of humidity. Even then, with the bigger pots now, the humidity is staying a higher than before. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about the temps. I don't have A/C and I live in a pretty hot place, but temps have been going down this week, so they'll get some cooler air soon. Maybe they're not growing as fast as they could, but they're still making progress!
