Solid week this week. The stretch is continuing nicely. I'm watering every 48-60hrs with 1L of nuted water each. I pour about 2/3 of the water through the top, then put the rest on the plate where the pot sits so that it can be soaked up from the bottom as well. Made one small change in the tent by adding a small cardboard light baffle to the inside of the passive intake. It fits nicely over the intake and is held in place by magnets so that it can be quickly and easily removed and reinstalled as needed. As humidity levels begin to rise, the oscilating fan is not staying on in the tent 24/7. Though I live in a very dry area, we typically get some rainy and humid weather in autumn and I don't want to take any chances with mold! There were several days this week during which the plants were growing 2cm a day! I did my last bit of defoliation this week as they finish off their 3rd week of flowering. Just snipped off any fan leaves blocking bud sites that weren't able to be tucked back and pulled any shoots that were buried under the canopy with no chance of growing up by the end of the stretch. Speedy Chile's roots were starting to show on the surface of the soil this week. I also noticed some strange white stuff on some bigger chunks of medium at the surface, so I pulled those pieces out, top dressed the soil to cover the vulnerable roots, and clipped a couple extra fan leaves down low that were affecting airflow. Hopefully that doesn't return. I'm very excited to see how the roots look when I harvest. I can hardly get my finger into the soil to test for dryness because of so many fine roots all through the soil. I'll definitely be moving up to 10L pots for my next grow. I unfortunately lost the even canopy, so I have about a 10cm difference between the level of the main stems and the level of the secondary branches in the middle. I waited about a week too long to flip, so the main stems, which weren't able to be tied down anymore due to space restrictions, got ahead of the other potential sites before the flip. Live and learn, but I'll definitely be flipping sooner next time now that I understand the limitations of my tent. Either that or I'll do a different style of LST. Fingers crossed that the luck continues through flower though!

2 plants in 0.5L pots in BioBizz AllMix. Using tap water. Both have twisted/incomplete new growth with strange texture and discoloration on some lower leaves. Suspicion: 1. Very soft water-> CalMag deficiency. 2. Low humidity ~25-35%. 3 Need to pot up (planned to do it this week)

These plants have been topped/LSTd. They're 5 weeks old in their final 7L pots. I'm thinking they're about ready to flip in the coming week, but I'm open to opinions on if I should wait more. Also, defoliation before flower: Skip it? Do it? If yes, then how much and where from?

Hey there Tiny Couch, you're absolutely right that they're ready to be flipped, that much you can tell by the new growth happening . Still though with a topping which is a HST , i would say try to aim for an average veg of 7 to 8 weeks. Topping can really reduce your yield, that's what folks dont realise. 5 weeks is very short for veg, but because of watching folks do it online it got kind of normalised lol The difference in yield for a short veg of up to 5 weeks and an average veg of up to 7 weeks is really quite huge, and in my personal opinion it's totally worth it if you have few plants. Go for 8 weeks even, that's not even a long veg, not really. Hope this helps ! πŸš€

@CRiSPrGrow, thanks for your advice! πŸ‘Š They were topped two weeks ago and have had consistent growth and LST since then, so I was thinking they would have recovered by now...? I'll admit that I am a bit impatient to move on to the next stage, but more than that, I was worried about letting them veg too long to where they end up outgrowing their small pots during the stretch. I'm not looking for a massive yield. An ounce off each plant will be plenty for my consumption, but the more, the better of course. Is the potential of outgrowing the pots something I should be worried about if I let them go another 2 weeks in veg?

Change humidity to 55/65% and temperature between 23-26 ΒΊC it's really important in the vegetative stage.

@Tosca, Thanks for the tips! I've gotten better control of the humidity this week. I don't want to buy a humidifier, so I just spray water into the tent a 4 or 5 times a day to give them a good dose of humidity. Even then, with the bigger pots now, the humidity is staying a higher than before. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about the temps. I don't have A/C and I live in a pretty hot place, but temps have been going down this week, so they'll get some cooler air soon. Maybe they're not growing as fast as they could, but they're still making progress!
