Week 1 Veg The next diary in The Fox's Den is Toxic by Ripper Seeds! This is one of the two strains I won for finishing 5th in the Jan 18 diary of the month comp. Huge thanks to GD and Ripper ✌️👍 I still currently use tap water that has a ppm of 150-190. I'm looking to get an RO system as soon as possible, my tap water is perfectly fine but using RO will always be better. I germinated her in a wet paper towel and put it in an open bag. This was left in a dark place for 2-3 days before being transplanted into a cup. I use coco and perlite at approx 3:1 ratio. As soon as she was in the cup I started watering with only tap water and EM1. I then started her with Cal-Mag and GH flora 3 part base nutrients on day 5, always ensuring not to drench the cup completely until her roots have spread. I'm using a new calmag as my hydro shop doesn't stock my usually Cal-Mag. This one seems popular amongst other growers, but it's more watered down than the growth technology Cal-Mag. We'llsee how it goes but I may be going back to GT when this is empty. She's a perfectly normal and happy looking seedling. I'm glad I don't have to deal with any mutants again, and hopefully won't any time soon! 😂 Looking forward to seeing this girl all grown up! Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 2 Veg This week her base nutrients have been increased, whilst gradually heading towards a 3:2:1 G:M:B ratio. Cal-Mag has also been increased slightly, but not quite full strength yet. A small amount of Epsom Salts have been added, along with Liquid Silicon, honey and molasses. The sugars are to feed the beneficial microbes, and silicon is used to build cell strength and wall thickness. Thicker cells means a more resistant, stronger plant. It also helps if you wish to train your girls (LST), as it makes even the thicker stems a lot more bendy. She's a healthy little girl that'll soon be transplanted and topped. Looking forward to the next update! Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 3 Veg A slow week for this girl. I've recently had slight pH issues with a few plants in the garden, as my pen was faulty even straight after recalibrating. As soon as I realised the problem I was quick to get a new one. Whilst waiting for delivery I used the good ol drip tester, which works well but it's not quite as easy to know the exact pH, only approximately. Because of this, plus upping her feed to full strength while unknowingly having an incorrect pH, she's been a slow feeder. She's been flushed at 5.80pH (tested with new pen) and given a top up with my veg feed. I was hoping to have her transplanted by now, but because of this I think its best to get her root zone happy again before going through the stress of transplanting. In all honesty it probably works in my favour as I'm pretty short for space in the veg tent due to having unexpected twins! Next week she'll be transplanted and topped. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 4 Veg This week she was transplanted into a 3ltr plastic pot and topped back to her 3rd node ✂️ I'd usually have her transplanted by day 20, but last week she was suffering from a slight pH fluctuation (faulty pen), so I fixed her root zone first and then transplanted as soon as she was back to perfect health. She could have become extremely stressed and unhealthy if I transplanted before correcting her pH. Since doing so, she's been a lot happier and growing healthily. The Eleven Roses twins will be in flower soon, giving this girl the main space under the light. We'll then start seeing much quicker growth. The twins have made things a little difficult, but nothing unmanageable. Nothing else to update on this girl yet so looking forward to next week. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 5 Veg This girl's bouncing right back and looking great. She was topped again at the end of the week, which should let her lower side branches catch up to the top. Next week she'll be transplanted and her two lower branches will be topped, once they're taller. That will be all the topping I'll be doing on this girl. After that I'll just be bending her before she goes into flower. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 6 Veg Unfortunately this girl hasn't been transplanted yet. My hydro shop didn't have any 4gal smart pots, they're now stocking up on Root Pouches. These didn't come in 4gal, so I later decided to get a load of 5gal Root Pouches. These are what I'll be using for my final pots from here on out. They're also half the price of smart pots so that's an instant bonus 👍 She's still looking very happy and healthy, she just needs to be watered more frequently. Her two lower branches that surpassed the main tops have been topped ✂️ now to get her in her final pot as soon as possible before getting her into flower. Sorry for the late updates guys, life and work can get busy for a little while sometimes, but I'm trying my best to keep up 👍 Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 7 Veg We got there in the end! She was finally transplanted into her final pot, but this time a 5gal #RootPouch. I was forced to make the switch due to my hydro shop not stocking Smart Pots anymore. I don't mind, and I'm looking forward to using these (especially as they're half the price!👌). Originally I preferred the shorter and wider Smart Pots, but I'm starting to think these may be the better shape. She was transplanted on Day 45 and given a lighter feeding to prevent any more shock to her roots. She's now looking very grateful for her new shoes and will soon be in flower! I wasn't planning on vegging her for this long originally, as a short veg time is recommended, but as she stretches I'll be weaving her under a net. SCROG style but probably not quite so intense. I also want to give her roots a little bit of time to set before going into flower, so she'll be given another half week or so. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 1 Flower The Toxic has now had her first week in the flower tent and starting to stretch well. She was thrown in on Day 53 Veg (Day 0 Flower). I'm expecting this girl to have a considerable stretch, so she's been opened up under the net more than usual as a simple, half hearted SCROG. Thanks just to keep her as small as possible. She's also currently being raised a bit in order to get her closer to the light, and also closer to the top of the average tent canopy. It also allows me to lower her when needed, allowing her to stretch as much as she needs to. Her base nutrients have been adjusted to a 1:1:1 (G:M:B) ratio throughout stretch and increased overall. This is to transition her into flower gradually, allowing her to uptake all nutrients required for a full, healthy stretch period. During this time, Silicon is increased slightly to compensate for her fast growth. This will ensure she stays strong and thick structured, whilst also keeping her flexible for longer before her stems stiffen up for flowering. The bendier she is throughout stretch, the easier it is to bend her under the strings if any branches get too tall. Cal-Mag and epsom salts have also been increased. Now she's in flower I've started using Mammoth P. I still use EM1 throughout flower and also during flush. Overall shes looking very happy and healthy under the full spectrum CMH. The girls seem to adjust to this spectrum and intensity very well. Looking forward to seeing this girls flowers 👍 Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 2 Flower This gorgeous Toxic girl is in perfect health and stretching well 💪 she bounced back straight away after being tucked under the strings, and has taken a nice shape. At the start of the week she was given a minor lollipop and leaf strip. This is just the first of two rounds to clean her up and create good air flow within her. She'll later be given her second and last lollipop and defoliation to slow the end of her stretch and ensure good light penetration. This is even more important when using a 315w CMH as they don't penetrate quite so much as a HPS. On day 14 she was given a maintenance flush to remove any excess salt build up from the coco and her roots. Straight after this, she was topped up with the nutrients listed above. The base nutrients are gradually changing to a 1:2:3 (G:M:B) ratio as she starts to concentrate on her flowers. As she's Sativa dom I'm expecting her to stretch more, so I won't switch to full bloom nutes too soon. Up to this flush she was given the previous week's nutrients. She's looking very happy and healthy in her quarter of the tent. Looking forward to the next update! Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 3 Flower This week her base nutrients are gradually changing to a ratio of 1:2:3 (G:M:B) for full bloom now that she's concentrating on her flowers more. I've also kept silicon slightly higher as she could still stretch. She was given her last lollipop and defoliation on Day 17. I left it a bit longer to prolong stunting her stretch. I expect she'll grow a bit taller but I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting more of a stretch from this girl so I'm slightly dissapointed I didn't take my gut instinct and veg her the full 8 weeks to get a thicker branch structure, but nonetheless this girl is flowering up very well this week and putting on some frost ❄️ Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 4 Flower This girl is looking very happy and healthy, with a great colour to her. Her base nutrients have now been adjusted to the 1:2:3 G:M:B ratio for flower. As silicon is the hardest to flush out of the plant, it was stopped on day 28. I didn't flush the coco so there will still be some there, and also some already in the plant, I've simply stopped feeding it so it can no longer uptake it in high doses. She will eventually flush it all out by the end of her cycle. She's flowering up well and producing trichomes faster. Don't expect to smell anything as soon as you see some frost, it can take a week or two before you can a real scent from her. This girl is now smelling super 👌 she's got an insanely sweet mixed berry smell that is too nice to take your nose away from! Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 5 Flower This girl is still smelling ridiculously dank 🍓🍇🍒🔥 she's building and frosting up nicely. I'm still disappointed that I didn't veg her for another week. If I did then she would have had a far thicker structure with the potential to produce bigger flowers. The reason I didn't is because I was expecting her to stretch almost twice as much as she has (I might just have a short pheno). She still has decent size nugs, and smells like an insane smoke so I'll definitely be giving her another run as a clone. At the start of the week I started to increase FloraBloom until it was at 2ml/ltr. By the end of the week I had stopped feeding FloraGrow as she's still a dark green. I also decreased FloraMicro as it's high in N. Silicon had already been stopped by day 28, and Cal-Mag was stopped by day 35. This is to ensure they're both properly flushed out of the plant by the end of her cycle. I was going to hold off until next week, but as she looks like she'll finish closer to 8 weeks than 9, I started her on the PK booster, Ripen. She's loving life in the flower tent, praying most of the time. A few fan leaves are plucked here and there if they're covering any tops or multiple bud sites. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

Week 6 Flower At the start of the week she was given her last feeding including FloraMicro and Ripen. I've stopped Ripen as I've decided to try the bloom booster from greenleaf nutrients, bud explosion. I switched simply because it has a far stronger PK value and I thought it'd be worth a try. I also started adding their sweet candy too, to see if it'll enhance the aroma and flavour. All greenleaf nutrients listed above are actually in gram per ltr, not ml per ltr. She's looking very frosty and smelling beaut. Considering how small she is, her buds are swelling up very well all the way down each branch. I was worried her thin structure wouldn't yield much but I think I spoke too soon. It's always a pleasure to open the tent and instantly smell her. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

7 Flower At the start of the week she was carried on with FloraBloom, Bud explosion and sweet candy, up until day 46 where she started her flush. The only thing I add to the water when flushing is EM1, as this isn't a nutrient, but are microbes. As it can be stretched/activated, it can go a long way so I use it in flush too. I flush a small amount of water in the centre of the pot until a decent amount is caught in the drip tray below. I then check the ppm and pH of it, to ensure everything has been ok and her pH is good. Once I've done that I put a large container underneath her and pour 30+ltr through her. I then check the ppm and pH of the last ramaining tun off in the small drip tray at the end of the flushing. By having the plants elevated on the wooden benches, it allows the pots to dry far quicker, which means I can flush them more times within 2+ weeks. This ensures I flush out all of the remaining nutrients in the coco, or as much as I can with tap water. She's smelling unbelievable and thickening up nicely. I'm very impressed with the size of her buds considering the size of her and thickness of her branches. I can only imagine what buds she would have produced with an extra week's veg for a thicker branch structure. Now to watch her fade for the next 14+ days. Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

I like to pluck a few of her biggest, greenest leaves throughout flush as it'll speed up her fade and flush her quicker by taking away stored nutrients. Looking forward to watching her fade! Week 9 Flower A short week as she was taken down on Day 61 flower. In the end, she produced nice and fat buds allround. She's faded very well, with most of her fans leaves being plucked off as they died. I do this to prevent any mould or anything while she finishes off. All of her buds are dense and coated in trichomes. She's a super sweet smelling girl that I just can't wait to try! Harvest update coming asap! Thanks for following and happy growing! 🐺

First of all a massive thanks to the guys at Ripper Seeds, and also GD for giving me these beans after placing top 10 in the Jan 18 Diary of the Month Comp ✌️👊 and thank you to all you guys that like/follow and comment each week, you all know it's always appreciated. When I run this girl again I'll be letting her grow bigger and thicker in structure before going into flower. She still turned out great, but with another week in the veg tent I know she would have yielded more, and would have stretched a bit more. Because I have 4 seperate plants/strains in one tent, under one light, I've had to calculate these by dividing the conditions by 4 (4 plants in total sharing same conditions). This is the fairest and only way to work it out on average as a full tent. Happy growing! 🐺
