This week I started some LST on this Fat (not yet, but someday hopefully) Banana.
There was extremely strong winds (70km/h) but as it's still small and close to the ground, it didn't seem to bother it. I didn't really have to water it, it remained moist constantly due to the rain.
I really hope I will still have enough time to grow and harvest something, temperatures are dropping and the sun is not always present.
First week indoor for the Fat Banana Auto in a Mars Hydro tent + TS 1000 150W.
Quite exciting and quite frightening at the same time as I have no experience whatsoever with indoor growing. Please feel free to step in if you feel like I'm doing something wrong, any piece of advice is always welcome.
Otherwise, I only adjusted the LST wire.
It's growing very nicely under the lights. Now I can see new growth everyday, which unfortunately did not happen on my balcony.
This week I gave it a watering with a grow tab from Royal Queen Seeds Easy Combo Booster Pack.
I gave up on lst for now, maybe i'll try again when it's a bit bigger.
Also I found a caterpillar, first pest issues arising? Hopefully this particular issue was easily solved.
I know it doesn't look like much compared to some other diaries out here but I am amazed at the constant growth everyday since I moved it under the lights.
Some bugs were spotted so i thoroughly sprayed with neem oil. Hopefully this will be enough to get rid of them.
It's growing steadily and starting to have a very faint smell, too soon to say if it's reminiscent of banana though.
I gave it a feeding with the bloom tablet from RQS, dissolved it in 5 liter bottle which I used twice (one time in the beginning of the week and second time at the end).
lowkey week. The only two things I did were feeding it with water + bloom tablet from RQS and spent hours admiring it.
I also sprayed the top soil and leaves with some neem oil as I found a few more bugs on the leaves.
That one is growing nicely and except for the few bugs I've spotted, there is no big issues as of now. It smelling nicer and nicer and I am very excited about the future harvest.
Feeding:
1 x Easy Bloom Booster Tablet from RQS
It is growing beautifully and I can't believe how dense the buds are (compared to my balcony grows). Growing under lights is a total game changer for me.
The smell is so damn nice, I can't wait to try it. A bit more patience and we'll get there.
Noticed some thrips unfortunately. I don't want to use neem oil since we are far into flowering. I removed them by hand everytime I found one but I have to find a more radical solution.
Nothing special this week.
Just a very light defoliation for air circulation purpose (it's very tight in there).
I keep removing thrips by hand everytime I see one because I don't want to use neem oil this far into flowering.
The smell is delightful as ever, can't wait to chop it off. Soon I hope.
Nothing much to do this week, I am getting ready for the harvest. Checking the trichomes everyday, it's not quite where I want them to be yet.
The smell is beautiful.
We are reaching the end, the buds are heavy and the smell is delightful.
The trichomes look alright, I will harvest next week. Can't wait any longer to be honest.
I really loved growing this strain. It was easy and stress-free. She seemed to be quite resistant to pests (my tent had a thrip invasion and it didn't seem to affect her too much).
I will definitely grow it again in the future.
Amazing tropical and fruity fragrances, I don't even know if I will be able to wait until it's cured before I can try it.
It grew short and stout, almost buds only. I reckon it could have been a bigger plant if I would have started it under the Mars Hydro instead of on my balcony. Next time I'll do better 🙏
Overall great genetics from RQS, highly recommended! 🙌
**SMOKE REPORT UPDATE after a long and nice cure**
The flavour is exactly what you would expect based on the delicious fragrance. Happy uplifting high.
It's probably one of my favourite strains and it will most certainly come back in my grow tent.
