Dairon Hello everyone!! This time I'm going to grow some North Thunderfuck seeds from Royal Queen Seeds, a USA genetic (Matanuska Thunderfuck Bx3) that brings us a 50% Sativa 50% Indica hybrid, more suitable for the upcoming climate since its flowering will be in November when it gets cold. Personally, I prefer this, choosing varieties that adapt to the time of year because even if they are indoors, the outside climate influences them. By selecting a variety that withstands the cold and humidity better, I save on the electricity bill since I'll only need to turn on the heaters on particularly cold days and moments, just like in summer when I usually grow varieties that handle the heat better.
To germinate these seeds, I'm going to use the Easy Start kit, which is very easy to use.
First, I'll put on some gloves or wash my hands with hand sanitizer or alcohol.
I gather everything I need: pH and EC meters, a hermetic germination container or propagator, pH and EC regulators from Biobizz, totally organic so I won't kill the microbial life in the soil by using them, measuring container, and tweezers.
- I cut the pots from the Easy Start kit since I'm only going to use half, just like the packet of microorganisms from which I'll save half to germinate again with this kit.
- I fill the jug halfway, 500ml, with osmosis water with an EC of 0.03 at a temperature of 25º, where I pour half the contents of the packet included in the kit, raising it to EC 0.4 with Biobizz Calmag, an organic source of calcium and magnesium that will cover the need for these two micronutrients in the grow.
- Next, I measure the pH and correct it to 5.9 using Biobizz Bio PH-.
- I pour the contents of the jug into a container that holds the ten pots from the Easy Start kit until they are well soaked.
- With the tweezers (disinfected), I take the seeds and place them one by one on their corresponding pot, pushing them into the substrate with the tweezers, no more than a few millimeters.
- Finally, I place them in a hermetic container and move them to the growth cabinet, hoping they won't take more than 24/48 hours to germinate.
While they are germinating, I will prepare 10 small pots of 0.23l for transplanting as soon as they are germinated, using Biobizz Light Mix substrate.

Dairon The germination of these seeds is slow, and I had to file down the tips a bit to help them, but once they germinate, they have good vigor. They should be bigger, but I'm holding them back a bit so they sync up in time with my other two crops.
I transplanted to a small pot, but I'm going to do it again to a final 5.5L pot in a few days. The substrate I'll use is Light Mix from Biobizz. Normally, I give the plants 4 weeks of growth; this time, I'll wait a few more days. When I transplant, I'll use Alg a mic from Biobizz sprayed to help them handle the stress of the transplant better. After they recover from that stress, I'll increase the EC to 1.0 and gradually raise it to 1.2 EC, which is the maximum value I use during the growth phase.

Dairon Changing the grow tent for the North Thunderfuck from Royal Queen, right now they are 3 weeks old and have another two weeks of growth ahead, so I need to speed things up since they are small. For that, I did a transplant into a final pot of 5.5L so the roots can really take off. Regarding feeding, I'm raising both EC to 1.0 and pH to 6.0 to encourage growth. After transplanting, I always add mycorrhizae to the watering, which works great for the roots and promotes faster growth.
I'm also changing the lighting since they are now under 100W of COB Citizen, which gives good results as you can see in my critical x widow diary.
These last two weeks, the outside temperatures have been very high, affecting the indoor ones as well, but autumn has arrived, and the growing parameters are getting to their optimal point.

Dairon Hello, as you can see in the photos, three of the specimens have really stretched, but the rest are still growing at a very slow pace. To solve this, I'm going to increase the dose of Fish Mix from Biobizz to 1.2 EC and I'll add mycorrhizae. I'll also do some apical pruning on a few to boost production, and for the smaller ones, I'll remove what I can from the bottom to stimulate vertical growth. They should stay in the growth phase for at least a couple more weeks.
I'm also considering another transplant to 11 liters since there are few plants and I need to get some yield to meet my needs.
As always, I'm spraying with preventive products to avoid the appearance of fungi or insects. I always use Leaf Coat from Biobizz and it works wonders.

Dairon Hey folks!! As you can see, they've made a good stretch in 8 days, you can already see the result of the apical pruning, with two main branches on each plant.
Intense and bright green color, very broad leaves that tell us it's a pure indica variety.
I'm going to induce them to flowering now, in a couple of days after this I'll do a low pruning to stimulate height growth.
As it should be, I acknowledge my mistake in not putting the seed in a final pot from the start, this has made its growth slower.
Good smokes for everyone!!

Dairon Hello everyone, here you have the RQS North Thunderfuck.
As you can see in the pictures, they are thriving; the results from the pruning couldn't be better, compact plants with 3-4 main colas. Since I did the apical pruning, the lower branches have reached the height of the main ones.
In the end, I didn't transplant them to 11l; I didn't want them to get too big so they would have more space between them and thus promote air circulation to avoid powdery mildew. In the last few days, it has been raining, and as I've mentioned in other posts, unless you have a grow room with opticlimate or have spent a lot of money on insulation and equipment, the outside climate affects the inside too.
The best thing is to use preventatives to avoid unwanted surprises.
Soon the first white pistils will start to show; I will gradually raise the EC. This time I think I can raise it a bit more; this strain is a real eater, so I'll reach 1.9 - 2.0 EC.
I've been looking for a strain that reacts like this to pruning for a while. With the branches almost all at the same height, they will receive much more light, especially since LED lighting penetrates less than other types of lighting, which should translate into better production.
I did a final low pruning; I can't do any more to stimulate the growth of the upper branches. Also, with these wide-leaf varieties, you have to remove quite a bit without fear, for the same reason I mentioned earlier about light penetration.
I hope everything continues like this, and soon they will start to have the first flowers. Cheers!!! 😃
Dairon Hello everyone!! Here we are in the 7th week of flowering and it's going strong!! This time we won't see such big buds, as the pruning was more intense to spread out the production and make the most of the growing area. After the last watering with nutrients, it's time for the corresponding root wash. I use a high-end cleaner that helps a lot to remove residues and improves the flavor. I use the recommended dose from the manufacturer and water until I see water coming out of the holes at the bottom of the pot. At that moment, I stop and let it sit for 12 hours to work well. After these 12 hours, I do the root wash with osmosis water at 0.0 EC and measure the drainage water until it comes out at 0.4 EC. It's not good to remove all the nutrients at once, so I will do at least two more waterings at 6.6 pH and 0.0 EC to finish eliminating everything, monitoring the output EC to ensure that in the last watering before cutting, it comes out at 0.0 EC. It's almost ready for harvest, so I will need to raise the temperature a bit, lower the humidity, and have the fans on full blast to shorten the time between these last waterings. Pleasant fruity smell, I would say a mix between lemon and peach, hard buds and a good size, it's a robust and easy-to-grow plant, responds very well to pruning and doesn't need much food, highly recommended!! We'll see how its last week goes, cheers!!! 😊 #emeraldharvestofficialtester
