@NexusDevil, we can agree to disagree on that idea. You can’t smell a contaminant spore until it’s blooming into trich or something nasty that will ruin your whole cycle. Also, just breathing on, exhaling near, or “smelling” your substrate is opening up a world of potential contam. You may get a good first & second flush before you notice Trich or cobweb mold, but those contaminants will take hold and reveal themselves on a 3rd, 4th, 5th flush as the result of that close up sniff test. I colonize rye grain bags, spawn to bulk, and get on average 5 flushes before I chuck them. Average 1LB dried per tub. Hopefully that method keeps working for you, I am a believer in sticking with what works. To each their own. Good luck

@HighAltitudeOrganics, Thanks for the comment, I have found that when atleast 70% is colonised your good to go, this was at least 90%, and even at 100% its still not immune to contamination. The best tool against contamination is simply smelling your growth.
