Well, still waiting on that white fluff to keep growing, I think once the bottom is entirely covered I will start fruiting.
Its always hard to predict a time schedule for these but its better to do it right than rush it and ruin everything.
@OneBakedWalrus, if you are in USA premiumspores and sporeworks are both solid. I work off liquid cultures but all my genetics trace back to those two sources. They are legit. Good luck
keep it up, im learning how to grow shrooms from you so keep up the awesome work. i plan on getting a grow happening this summer. trying to learn as much as i can b4 then
@FreshCoastOrganics, Compared to the trip I had last night on 48g this was nothing, these shrooms are completely insane. I never thought reality itself could speak to you...
Did you reach full consolidation before you added that casing layer of verm? Looking at week 7 photos you still had some uncolonized grain spawn. Then week 8 I see casing layer.
Be super careful, maintain your sterile practices...I never flip to fruit until full consolidation because there remains the risk for contamination, as Iβm sure you already know.
Been growing cubes for 10+ years. Good luck through fruiting.
@NexusDevil, we can agree to disagree on that idea. You canβt smell a contaminant spore until itβs blooming into trich or something nasty that will ruin your whole cycle. Also, just breathing on, exhaling near, or βsmellingβ your substrate is opening up a world of potential contam. You may get a good first & second flush before you notice Trich or cobweb mold, but those contaminants will take hold and reveal themselves on a 3rd, 4th, 5th flush as the result of that close up sniff test. I colonize rye grain bags, spawn to bulk, and get on average 5 flushes before I chuck them. Average 1LB dried per tub.
Hopefully that method keeps working for you, I am a believer in sticking with what works. To each their own. Good luck
@HighAltitudeOrganics, Thanks for the comment, I have found that when atleast 70% is colonised your good to go, this was at least 90%, and even at 100% its still not immune to contamination. The best tool against contamination is simply smelling your growth.
