Fast Buds Original Auto Northern Lights.
I've always loved the smell and potency of the Northern Lights and can't wait to see this girl flourish.
Big shout out to FastBuds for the opportunity to grow another one of their amazing Auto Flowering strains.
Organic Grow.
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Cup (16 Tbsp)
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 3 Tbsp
Great White: 2 Tbsp
Micro Grow: 1 Tbsp
Worm Casting: 10%
Coco Coir: 60%
Perlite: 30%
I lost track of the days so my photos are actually day 15 rather then day 14 as it should have been.
She has more than doubled in size from last week. She has good colour and solid stems. No issues or concerns. Things are going well.
She has beautiful colour, doubled in size from last week and the Internodal spacing is starting to spread.
I've done a little leaf tucking and that's really it.
Come the end of next week she should start to transition into flowering and i'll be looking to top dress shortly after.
This plant is insane. Just over a month old and she is already 21inches tall. To top that off, check out the pencil size stems all around her....... almost as if she is prepping the hold up some big bud.
She is showing sex now and the pistols have started to show up.
She is easily drinking 2 litres of water every day now.
I gave her a shot of Molasses last night: 1/2 Tbsp / Gal.
This girl just continues to amaze.
She is 28 inches wide, 28 inches deep and a staggering 29 inches tall. She is drinking between 2.5 - 3 litres every 24hours. I wish I had put her in a 5 Gal pot vice the 3 Gal she is in as there are no signs of her growth slowing down.
The transition into flowering in now under way. Im not sure if 5 week Veg is normal for this genetic but well see how many weeks of flowering she takes before harvest.
Northern Lights is typically a large producer so if this one lives up to its background this plant is going to have a massive yield. I can only hope the quality of bud compliments her looks.
In addition to the Root builder and Calmag I feed every watering i've also given her the following this week:
Great White: 1 tsp per Gal - 2 litre
Epson Salt: 2 tsp per Gal - 1 litre
Worm Casting: 8 Tbsp
Gaia Green: Alfalfa Meal - 3 Tsp
Molasses: 1 tsp per gal - 1 litre
From seed she has taken all the nutrients I've fed her so well with zero signs of overfeeding. I can only imagine she is going through nutrients quick because of her size. I expect she will need another top dress so I am planning to feed her again next with some Gaia Green.
To put into perspective how large she is, check out the size of her compared to my 4x4 tent in the first picture. The stretch is starting to slow as she only grew 5 inches during the week.
I took a risk and transplanted her from a 3 Gal Pot to a 5 Gal Pot. The roots were bright white and were all at the edges and bottom of the pot. Definitely needed more room to expand.
Unfortunately during transplant one of the big side stems slightly pulled off the main stem. It did not snap off so I used what I had on hand (electrical tape) to aid in holding up the weighted stem.
Despite the injury, the only effect i've noticed is that she has not stretched as far when compared to the opposite side. Other than that, she looks just as healthy as everything else.
She drinking a solid 3 litres of water every 24hours and by next week I'm expecting her to be at 4 litres.
Tonight she got 1 Tsp of Molasses and 2 Tsp of Epson Salt with 4 litres of water.
Premixed into the transplant medium.

Check the photo of this Northern Lights Auto in my 4x4 Gorilla Tent. It truly shows how big this plant really is.
She is officially 3ft (36 inches) tall, 32 inches deep and 38 inches wide.
I have her 3Tbsp more of Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal this week because i noticed some premature nitrogen depletion in a lot of the lower leaves. If I can keep the nice green in the leaves she has now she should finish just perfect. I've also given her 3Tbsp of Gaia Green Glacier Rock Dust to completed the CalMag. Ive decided to cut out the Green Plant Root Builder for a couple weeks to see if I notice a difference in her growth.
She is drink a volume of 4 litres of water every 24 hours. She definitely loves to drink.
Not much stretch this week. Now to pack on the weight.
The widest stems were starting to droop so I used some ties to assist is supporting her as the buds bulk up.
She is still drinking a solid 4+ litres every 24 hours.
Trichomes are slowly starting to come in.
The nitrogen has started to quickly deplete in the lower leaves so I decided to give her an extra shot of straight nitrogen with a lite feeding of feather meal.
She received:
Gaia Green Feather Meal - 1 Tbsp for 5 Gal pot
Molasses - 1 Tsp per Gal of water
Epson Sal - 2 Tsp per Gal of water
This week has gone pretty well. Trichomes are continuing to come in. The buds are filling out well and I expect them to really pack on weight from this point moving forward. It seems like the nitrogen depletion has slowed down so I believe I have that under control.
There is no smell coming off it yet but I'm sure there would be if I started touching the buds.
She is still drinking a solid 4 litres of water every 24hrs. I gave her a final feeding that should take her to the finish.
Top dressed.
Gaia Green - All Purpose: 3 Tbsp
Gaia Green - Power Bloom: 4 Tbsp
Gaia Green - Alfalfa: 3 Tbsp
Gaia Green - Mineralized Phosphate: 4 Tsp
Gro4 Earthworm Casting: 1.5 Cup
She has started to drink more the last few days putting away 5 litres of water every 24hrs with no run off.
The smell is starting to come out and the buds are extremely sticky.
Nitrogen depletion is continuing gradually on the lower leaves.
She is still going through a lot of water.
Her overall health seems good.
Trichomes have definitely come in this last week and all have cloudy heads. Smell is peppery with a hint of pine.
I expect her to finish in two weeks so not too far from harvest. Cant wait.
I cleaned house today with all the fan leaves. Now you can really see how much bud this girl has.
For the last week she has been drinking 6 litres of water every 24hrs. 3 litres when the lights come on and another 3 litres roughly 6 hours later, with no run off. I dunno where she is putting it.
The smell has significantly improved. Pepper with a hint of pine.
Buds are all dense and sticky. Very consistent throughout.
Trichomes heads are pretty much all cloudy now. Tomorrow I'll be starting to give her just PH water. I don't see her going another two weeks so the harvest is just around the corner.
We are near the end now.
I cut the light output by 50% so she is only running at 250W.
Since turning the light down and doing a heavy defoliation the water uptake has significantly reduced. She is now drinking less than 4 litres per day.
The last few days the trichomes have really started to come out on some buds, almost creating a film on them. Its strange because not all the buds are doing this, maybe 40% look this way.
I've been feeding her only PH water and Flawless Finish all week and she is showing nice gradual nutrient depletion.
It's hard to see in the pics but all of the buds have beautiful purple tinted buds. The buds are really packing on weight and some stems are struggling to stand up straight. I used some additional garden ties to help support them.
The smell has transition from a peppery to a more sweet/fruity smell and the hint of pine still remains.
Trichome heads are cloudy with a few clear. I cant find any amber yet, however I expect the amber is going to showing in the next few days. This is likely that last post before harvest. I can't wait to see the end results. Super pumped. 😏
Well this adventure has come to end and WOW! She yielded a staggering 636 grams in just 15 weeks.
I decided not to defoliate her as often as I normally would to maximize the energy from the light and the plants potential. I mounted two additional fans blowing across the canopy to ensure adequate airflow since there was so much foliage.
5 Weeks Veg and she was finally cut near the end of the 10th Week of Flowering.
I had my light set to 500W for most of this grow and did she ever drink a lot throughout flowering.
She finished with just shy of a two week flush of PH water and Flawless Finish.
Smell:
Imagine opening your spice cabinet and a hint of fruit.
Taste:
Nice smooth smoke. Tastes like pepper and spices and fades out to a sweet finish.
Appearance:
Green buds with lots of golden brown pistols.
Compact buds coated with a frosty layer of trichomes.
When the bud is ground up, you are left with green flower with unique purple colours throughout. Stunning!
Effects:
The high will start to set in within the first few puffs and will continue to increase long after you’re done smoking. She is more of a head high than anything and basically puts your mind into a fog. I can still do what I need to but I may not be as productive. It is great to sit and watch a game on TV or as you settle into the late evening. Having munchies near by is never a bad idea with this stuff either.
Overall this plant was easy to grow and strong. Initially I was concerned how she would take to being transplanted from a 3 Gal to 5 Gal pot at Week 2 of flowering. Transplant was a smart decision because she was quickly out growing its pot however, because it was so big at the time of transplant I ended up breaking one of her first lower nodes. As if she needed more stress. Needless to say, it did not break completely off so I used some medical tape and garden ties to support the large stem. After a number of weeks she healed up quite well, and the only downfall was the growth was stunted for roughly a week.
Drying and cure has been a bit tough. I was forced to dry her with lower humidity levels than i’d hope, sitting between 50-55% RH causing it to dry in just over a week. Most of my buds stabilized at 62%RH quite quickly. The larger nuggets dried out too much, so I used my humidifier to increase the humidity in my containers. So far so good.
Pros:
Easy and strong plant.
XL harvest.
@livetogrowgrowtolive, This stuff is great. Down the road I would love to try and replicate this grow. Best of luck with yours my friend. You will not be disappointed. 👍
Hey man awesome job plant looks huge for that size pot , which is probably why I'm seeing a slight sulfur deficiency notice how your stems are becoming woody? I just ran into that and it will cause you much more than that if let go as it locks other nutrients out with no sulfur , what I did to fix this was use a PK only nutrient at half strength and flush that pot , then your gonna want to use some calmag and flowering nutes on your next feed
@GACiNATI, Thanks for checking out my grow 👊. She has been a thrill to watch grow to this point. I have some epson salt on hand which will not hurt whether she needs it or not. I'll give her a drink next feeding and be sure to keep a close eye on her. 👍
wowowowow i hope my northern light will end up.like yours my friend top notch buds....i love the colors very hot to.seee!!! and the buzz itself mean everything for.me !!!! send me some baby hahaha kiddin
Wow congrats on an amazing final yield. Those buds look super frosty and delicious. Keep up the amazing progress. Good luck stay safe happy growing cheers!!
@Fast_Buds, Thanks! She is enormous for an auto and could easily fill a 3x3 tent. Big shout out to Fast_Buds for the opportunity to grow this genetic. Just and absolute pleasure so far. Be sure to stay tuned as we get closer to harvest.
@MrHightimes, Thanks for checking her out. This one was off the charts from the beginning and blew my expectations out of the water. Best for a evening smoke, that's for sure. 👍
