Well this past week has been interesting. She went into a spurt. Over 10 inches! Then she settled in and began throwing out clusters of Buds at every node. Yesterday, I was finalizing my Sativa for harvest. I normally add 2 table spoons of Mollasses to a gallon of water, once during the final two weeks. I decided to give this girl one cup as an added bonus to get the microbes working on the sugars in the soil. I am hopeful my Pure Sativa will finish soon so I can move this girl from her current tent (5ft tall) to my 8ft tall tent. Since her growth spurt, I have raised the lighting as high as possible and am afraid I need more height. I am confident the top cola's will grow taller and that might bring them too close for comfort to the lights. Overall she has been a delight to grow! This is my First Auto and I am impressed. Enough so that I placed another order for some Cobra Auto Regular Seeds. Hopefully I will get a male and can collect some pollen for some experimental breeding. Well until next week, enjoy!

This is week four. I topped her last week and have multiple branches. Should I top her again before reaching week five?

Nah dude, I dont think its worth it with auto's unless you have a lot of time and some luck. You can see it on my grow, I topped during week 2 and 3 I believe and it's taking ages to flower :( start adding the Bloom when the stretch begins, bit by bit, but keep the amount low until the stretching noticeably stops. Then you can add more to help it flower. Also continue to add Grow until stretching stops to ensure max growth during this growth-spurt. However, if you want to finish sooner and have less stretch, then use less Grow. Just remember not to switch too abruptly to Bloom,go easy shes a living thing :D

At what point should I cease Foliar Feeding or applying water via spray bottle. I am currently in week nine ad the description of this strain says it should be ready for harvest between weeks 8-10. Approximately 20% of the pistils have turned orange as of today.

Hi. You stop foliar feeding after the first 2 weeks into flower, definitely do not foliar after that point as you don't want your bud sites getting wet, you can cause mold and other nasty things moistening the buds. You want at least 80% of the pistils to turn before you can even consider it to be ready/mature. Trichomes are the best way to tell how 'ready' she is. Hope this helps.

well done man, youre almost there! have you thought about giving straight water for the remaining time? I guess theres much debate on the color of the trichomes, one says to harvest directly when shes 80% cloudy 10% clear and 10 amber, another (just last week) told me to flush for two weeks once it's at this stage because the crystals dont turn super fast. So I guess, just go with intuition, or as they say 'if you think its ready, give it another week'. Your lady is looking might fine :D has she stopped swelling? The reason I ask is because I thought she would get super fat buds especially with 1000w LED's, but then again you have more buds on the stalk so I guess that could compensate :p you could even harvest at different intervals, experiment a little haha nevertheless she looks like she'll be an easy trim, not many leaves sticking out 👌

Hello and srry for the late reply, imo first of all cut the blooming nutes, secondly this dark green colour is usually an indication of nitrogen toxicity, usually for autos u check the recommended dosage per lt of water and u begin with 1/4 strength. Also u should not top an auto this results to reduced crop. Auto have a certain life cycle they r not like photos. Hope I was helpful.

@AmnZhz, Thanks, yes this is my first time growing an auto and it is quite different than a regular photo-period plant. I'm use to being able to keep my girls in Veg as long as needed and topping multiple times. I'm sure you are correct about the feeding and dosage. I will just water for the next week and see if the color of the leaves changes. The branches have grown to about 4-5 inches in length now so, I took some dried stems from my last Sativa, bent them into a V and used them to make the branches start growing outward about 90 degree from the center. Opening up the canopy. I often save any long 1/8 inch thick stems from my harvests and use them like tent stakes for this purpose. This way I can move them upwards as the plant grows until they are no longer needed. I am finding that any skills growing regular photo's doesn't necessarily transfer to growing an auto. First time is always a learning curve! Thanks for your advice and I'll be posting some more pics in a few days.

did you run 1000w and 400w during flower, or just 1000w total?

R_Owl_Mirrorcommented7 years ago
@rusty_grizwald, Yeah, keeping those statistics straight was challenging for me. I began with One 400 watt light during Veg. After I think week 4-5, I added another 400 watt light. Once my Landrace Sativa finished I was able to easily swap out my 1000 watt light, which replaced the two 400 watts. In my next grow, I have two tents & in each, I didn't bother changing out the lights. The large 30-gallon pot is under 1000 watts & the Blueberry is under the 400w X2. The only adjustments I have made were to the chain, which holds the lights in place. I found a few things in the describing of the diary to be information I just couldn't provide. A more advanced scientist-type person may measure ppm of C02 inside the tent. Or at least own a scale that weighs more than Grams. (for cooking)

I took her out of the tent todays and took multiple photo's in natural lighting. Hopefully, they will show more of her form and growth pattern. Since the first two photo's were taken, I have only been using straight water. The dark green color seems to have diminished and she is looking healthier. For my first time, I am happy with the results so far. I am glad to be half-way through her life cycle. Now the fun begins, watching Buds begin to form. Since I spread out the branches, many new branches have appeared on the inner portion of the plant. If anyone has any comments or suggestions, I would really appreciate hearing them.

Week four, multiple branches after first topping. I was told not to top after week five so, should I do one more topping this week? Also, should I begin supplying Big Bloom fertilizer after week five?
