Grew like a weed :). While I was really hoping for 400 grams wet, I'll take 362! It was not quite 'wet' either, having dried for over 24 hours when I took the weight.
The plant yielded way more than its size would suggest. It stayed fairly short and tightly spaced but there were colas on every branch and no popcorn buds at all. This is a huge bonus, having trimmed a truly infuriating amount of popcorn bud from the summer harvest.
Still in drying mode but should have a dry weight and initial smoke report by December 13th. Final smoke report by the 20th.
Now all I need to do is prevent mold and cure nicely.
GHE has been my go to. Easy to use, widely available, inexpensive, proven track record at hobby and commercial scale... why use anything else? My nutrient schedule is in my images.
Hydroguard has kept my roots healthy and nutrient solution clean at temperatures up to 25 C. This is very impressive. I've heard it's no longer available in Canada though so I don't know what I'll do when I run out.
pH was important as expected and a bit of light burn later on in the grow but ultimately it was pretty smooth sailing. I used a very common nutrient (GHE) and not overly strong.
Buds were thick, dense, and moderately pine smelling. The plant did not grow excessively tall thanks to LST, and the LST did not seem to have any ill effects at all. Foliage was thick, and I let it go for a very long time before doing any sort of defoliation. Even then it was modest and just to get light to the lower colas.
Still in trimming mode and will continue to update :)
Also, other plants in the house got spider mites. Not this one. Could have been that it was in hydro and others weren't but hard to say.
I don't think this seedling looks good. It's been like this 2 days (pics above) with a slightly wilty look and sick looking leaves. pH is 5.9. Weak nutrient solution above flushes the rockwool for 30 minutes every 3 hours. Rockwool never gets fully dry. What's wrong?
Hey she doesn’t look bad at all. I noticed in my hydro setup is there is always a day or two where they don’t do much at all. So keep going and I am sure she will take off real soon
Hope that helps and happy growing
@Njaak, just saw the update. She's looking nice. That green is just algae. It wont hurt anything and most of it will die off once the plant gets big enough to shade it from light.
