18x plants, clones
5x different strains
5x "Mango Crunch" plants, clones of female regulars
I had some doubts this week. Trichome production is slow to start, and the plants have too many leaves. Some plants are clearly doing better than others, but I have certainly grown better varieties of RQS. ๐ But if you're looking for something unique, these regulars are excellent. ๐ All 5 of the brand new regulars strains of RQS are unique in their scent and aroma. ๐ In my original first outdoor culture of these regulars (see other diaries) the indicated harvest time of early October turned out to be totally unrealistic. ๐ That's why my goal now is to get some unique phenos of these ladies. This will certainly work.
2 of the 5 Mango Crunches (pheno # 2 and # 3) are very big in length, but don't look that great. They produce sativa-like buds, but don't look very promising. Pheno # 2 also has leaves that curl up like the horns of a ram. The plants have a rather herbaceous smell.
Much better are the Indica-like phenos # 1, # 6 and # 7. The smallest of the three is # 1, a beautiful plant and she already makes quite a few trichomes. Pheno # 6 is a beauty too. Plenty of pistils and a good flower / leaf ratio, but fewer trichomes than # 1. Many of the pistils have already turned brown. Pheno # 7 is a bit between # 1 and # 6 and she is also a beautiful plant. All three of these phenos have a fresh sweet and sour scent.
Thanks to LST and topping, each plant has three main buds. The plastic plant stakes serve to support the heavy buds. ๐ช
The plants had a weekly vigorous defoliation. ๐ฎ This week they got their last defoliation before harvesting. ๐ฆ They are now very bare, but this will give the lower buds a lot of light, allowing all buds to ripen hard. ๐
