Hoping to harvest after new years'
Much shorter plants than the first time, main stem is kind of growing sideways (perhaps I didn't plant it perfectly up/down) so not very tall, but topping (1st time) seems to have worked and lots more buds forming than my first grow.
I overwatered them early on so been trying to let them dry out more now.
Just started to give them some more nutrients (heavier).
Some yellow/brown spots on a few of the leaves (fungus?).
Will try some fungicide on them tomorrow.
😀
1/2 way to harvest... Bigger plant starting to look good... the littler one is very bushy, doesn't seem to really want to grow up but otherwise looks ok.
Buds starting to look more defined...about 15 good ones on the big plant, and 6 on the little.
Both plants seem happy and healthy but so very different.
The buds on the little plant look so nice, even though only a few.
The bigger plant has a ton of them but really not filling out.
Going to add a second light (king 600) to the tent over the bigger plant (smaller buds) and see if that helps...
****Does TDS really matter for soil?
My tap water is ~900 so I've used my filtered water and after nutes is in the 300-600 range.
Seems like online says TDS should be higher. Should I just use the tap water to bring it up higher? (Adjusting ph down as needed)
Flowers starting to look good.
Plants drinking more, up to 0.75/l every other day.
The tips got a little brown at end of last week so gave less nutrients this week and seemed to solve.
The serrated edges turning up just a bit (heat?) I noticed this morning but otherwise they look happy.
I added a second light last week which is helping but hard to keep them below about 78degrees. For now they about 78day and 68night.
Finally, I had been using my filtered water until this week, which I noticed TDS was about 200 (filtered).
I see a lot of stuff says TDS should be like 700 during flower??
I changed to using tap water which brings the TDS up to around 500-700.
Does it matter??
Start of 10th week.
Bigger plant 16" and buds starting to fill out; Littler plant 11" but nice buds.
Plants looking a little droopy in pics, but I think it because they just woke up from lights out last night.
Started to get some rust colored spots on some leaves on the little one and it's darker green overall; added some cal mag and shifted the ph up to 6.8 for watering (been at 6.3ish most of the way)?
Thought I had 3 weeks to go but looked at trichomes and they about 2/3 cloudy and 1/3 clear, don't see any amber.
Maybe just one or two weeks to go?
2nd try with this Auto. I topped them and it worked out great. Harvested first one at 71days germinate-to-harvest, and 2nd plant @81 days. Probably could have let each grow a bit longer but i prefer the head high. Ended up w/ 3oz dried/cured in total from the 2 plants.
2nd grow wrapping up. These two plants so very different. Harvested first one at 71days (11" tall, bushy little girl) but much fatter flowers than I grew first time. Microscope showed about 5% amber and I like the head high so went with it.
Harvested 2nd @ 81days, 18" tall. I cut off the nutes too early in hindsight as she looked hungry at the end. About (~5 ounces wet) on the second one.
Hoping to finish up with about 2.5dryounces in total.
Looks good. Hope it tastes good!
Taking a break and try again in about a month (easier to grow in winter here - I find it easier to heat/humdify, than the other way around).
First try topping this grow and 100% will do again.
Stronger lights this time seem to have paid off (first grow plants ended up 42" tall), and monitoring ph much more this time was a win. Going to focus more on the nutrients next time as seems like I can do better.
