*Within 24 hours all three seeds had a tap root coming out of the shell, I continued to germinate them for another day and then placed them directly into the Soil/Perlite medium tap root down.
*ph-5.8-6.5 water only, Foliar spraying Root&Grow+H2O to help keep the humidity high and promote root growth.
*Popped through soil on 11/20/20 lowered RH:75% Temp: 74-78F
Everything is growing as expected. I have noticed a much better growth rate with these ILGM Autoflower seed than I have had with other companies Like Purple City Genetics. I am focusing on perfecting the atmosphere in my grow space so that I can reach the optimum VPD and maximize my growth rate.
**All 3x Gelato Auto girls are growing at a great rate. I noticed they put on some serious thickness and height within only a day or so. I am sticking to feeding every other watering and giving an extra dose of recharge every Monday.
*Had a couple fungus gnats flying around when i would move the pots around. I spread some DE on the soil and put up a few Yellow Sticky Traps.
Started the second week of Nutrients which was just doubling the first week to try and increase vegetative growth. The following week I will up it again to 4ml-Micro, 3ml-Gro, 3ml-Bloom, 4ml-Cal-mag and 1 dose Recharge. I am kinda making my own Nutrient Schedule that best suits my plants and the way I like to grow which keep them as healthy as possible the whole way through to produce the best quality buds I possibly can.
**This week I was expecting some rapid growth or more branching from the LST I did, but Im probably just rushing stuff. More patience!!!
**Another interesting note to make is that GELATO #2 (the one I topped) has grown more laterally then #1 and #3. My thoughts were that the Low stress would allow the plant to keep growing and not cause it to slow down at all but instead it seems the topped one grew the best and is continuing to best the other two.
**Pistils are showing up which means this is the last week of Veg for this auto.
FED 2xs this week and Watered 2xs seems these girls are getting very hungry.
ADDED 5ML- Humbolts sticky&Sweet to each gallon fed. wouldnt register in graph right. so I will just write in the amount of nutrients used when the graph doesnt want to cooperate.
*For some reason these Gelato Auto Flowers by ILGM are responding very well to being topped. the one that looks the very best and has 6 nice solid branches stretching upwards ready to make some nice colas, While the others (#1 and #3) are still working on vertical growth of the branches. I did LST to #1 and that just made it so alot of bud sites could pop up which eventually got over run by fan leaves. I tucked as many as I could and only removed 2-3 to open up more bud sites to the lights. Now #3 I didn't do anything at all to. I literally just left it grow straight up thinking it was like a tree but even this girl branched out way more then the LST one I allowed it to grow with no training until preflowers showed then I tied the top down so it would allow all those branches to be better exposed to the light and this also will reshape the main cola hopefully allowing other branches to pack on some big nugs.
***VERY IMPORTANT INFO: Never let your plants sit on the ground if you live in a Mobile home or do not have floor board heat. Because it is winter where I reside my plants kept getting extremely droopy everytime I would water them. Turns out the cold air running under my home was making my floor too cold. Easy fix I just took a big piece of styrofoam and cut out vent holes in the side so warm air could flow under neath my grow table/stand this in turn keeps my plants much much warmer then before and to my amazement the drooping has stopped for the most part they still droop a little right before lights out but nothing compared to before.
Plants are doing wonderfully, preflowers popping up all over amd are getting bigger each night. Feeding well also seem to be about every other day they are dry
Sadly my heater kicked off on me and two of the 3 ladies got hit hard by the very cold temps in this part of my house. So instead of wasting a bunch of time I just harvested them early but kept the Topped one to see how much I really got from it. It also was the only one that wasn’t completely icy in the soil as it sits near an exhaust port from my dryer.
Sadly she stopped eating on day 53 I kept her around for 3 more days hoping that the pot would miraculously get light and dry over night but to no avail she got the chop.
Autoflower so be easy on the nutrients at first. But once in flower she will eat heavy I just tried to keep mine small. Takes very well to topping and heavy LST. Very Vigorous growth once dialed in on temp and humidity. They like it very humid in veg (65% +) temps do best from 72-80F, flower I keep the temps the same but drop the humidity to 50% no more! That’s all I got! Grow On if you have input feel free to add or message me!
Overall this was a great strain to grow. It took well to feeding snd all the mistakes a first one grower like me can make. I underwatered these plants almost the entire grow cause a smaller yield.
