I soaked one seed in Vitathrive and water for 24hrs.
Then moved into paper town in a ziplock bag.
I kept it in darkness for 48hrs total until half and inch of tap root was exposed.
At this point I transferred to her 3 Gal pot.
Pre mix for the pot was:
Gaia Green All Purpose Fertilizer 4-4-4: 1 Cup (16 Tbsp)
Gaia Green Power Bloom 2-8-4: 12 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock: 3 Tbsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal: 2 Tbsp
Great White: 2 Tbsp
Micro Grow - Root Multiplier: 1 Tbsp
Worm Casting: 2 Cups
Coco Coir: 60%
Perlite: 30%
Week 2 down and she has really started to open up. She has big fat leaves and a couple just want to curl toward the light.
I will give her a water soluble shot of great white next week and get her off to the races.
This week has gone well.
She is stretching well and supported with a thick main stem.
I defoliated her underside.
I gave her:
Molasses: 1 Tsp
Epsom Slat: 2 Tsp
Week 4 completed and things are going quite well.
The stretch continues while she produced big paw like fan leaves.
I've done some minor leaf tucking rather than defoliation.
I should be switching her to 12-12 in a few days, once my big plant comes out.
I gave her 1 Tsp of molasses this week in addition to her root builder.
I only switched her to 12-12 four days ago so its not quite week into flowering.
I turned the lights up to 300W and dropped it to 28 inches.
Humidity this week has been a bit tough to control. I have a bucket of water in my tent and its range is between 45 - 60%RH at any given time.
I defoliated all the remaining large fan leaves to allow all the lower nodes to get direct light exposure.
I top dressed her with a good feeding:
Gaia Green All Purpose - 2 Tsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom - 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust - 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal - 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate - 2 Tsp
Great White - 1 Tsp
Earthworm Casting - 10 Tbsp
This girl just keeps wanting to stretch. I've had to turn the main top back down to try and slow the growth, as seen in the pictures.
She is showing sex now.
Her water intake has not changed this week.
I defoliated a large amount of fan leaves and smaller nodes in the undercarriage.
I gave her molasses at a rate of 1 Tsp per Gal of water.
Flowering is underway as the white cotton balls come in.
She is tall and narrow and the stretch is thankfully slowing down.
Large dark green leaves looks amazing.
No change to water intake.
All is good this week.
I turned the light up to 400W this week and the water intake has also increased.
The leaves on this plant look like their on sticks pointing upward.
Trichomes are coming in.
I will likely be feeding her next week.
Over all this week was going well until tonight when I noticed some spotting (seen in photos) on ONLY three of her leaf fingers. Pretty confident it's a CalMag issue and possibly a PH imbalance in the medium. Of all my plants this is the only one showing spotting. If it doesn't improve in a day or so i'll get some run off and check the PH. Other than the spotting this plant is gorgeous. I love how the buds are stacking and how healthy the leaves look.
I raised my light so the distance is now greater than my target of 28 inches. My light is now running a full power (500 Watt).
I top dressed her with:
Gaia Green All Purpose - 1 Tsp
Gaia Green Power Bloom - 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green Glacial Rock Dust - 2 Tbsp
Gaia Green Alfalfa Meal - 1 Tbsp
Gaia Green Mineralized Phosphate - 2 Tsp
Earthworm Casting - 10 Tbsp
The buds are built like a pyramid and DENSE. They should be nice and heavy when the plant finishes.
I have the slightest tip burn so I decided to skip the molasses feed this week.
Some of the pistols are starting to turn light brown.
The copper spotting has slowed down. There are a few more tiny spots on a couple leave (very minor), but I increased the CALIMAGIC slightly. I don't think its going to effect the plant too much.
Other than the spotting, this plant is growing absolutely beautiful.
This week has not gone as well as id hope.
I thought I had the copper spotting correct. Turns out I did not and it got worse early this week. I tested the PH of the run off and it was very low. Came in at 5.2 - 5.4 PH. Now that I know that, it's definitely a magnesium deficiency. I've watered her twice at 7.6 PH and watered today at 6.8 PH. I'll get some run off in a few days and see if we can get it back up.
Despite the spotting this plant still looks amazing. Buds are dense and heavy and seem consistent throughout..
I fed 1 Tsp of molasses in a gal of water.
There are still a lot of white pistols on her so we still has a few good weeks left.
I've uploaded a couple photos of the trichomes on her. There are the first few amber tips showing so tomorrow i'll cut out the Calimagic and start the flush. Giving it Flawless Finish by Advanced Nutrients at 2ml per litre of water.
I turned my light down to 400W since were starting into the final weeks.
Nitrogen is also starting the fade as we near the end.
We are now into the final weeks.
She has had flawless finish for most of the week and likely for the next 5 days.
The nitrogen is fading quick and you can really see the effected leaves from my magnesium issue.
Next update will be the final product.
Final Yeild was 193 grams of consist buds.
I was not able to maximum my 500W light as it was dimmed and far from the plant most of the grow.
Flush was done with PH down water and Flawless Finish for 10 days.
She smells exactly like dry herb. The taste seem to be all over the place with this one. Some buds I smoke have hints of lemon and pine while other buds I get more sour and earthy. It burns a little on the dark side even at final cure. Buds are dense and consistent throughout the entire plant. Not a lot of trichomes so it may not be great for extracts. The effects seem to be hit and miss as well. Despite smoking the same size joints, I can at times have a moderate high while other times it can hit me like a wall. This is also one that can bring on the munches if your sitting around.
This plant was absolutely gorgeous up until the point she had a magnesium deficiency set in due to low PH. Had this not of happened, the final product would have been much better. Im confident if I gave this plant more room to grow and maximized the 500W of light, she would have produced more bud.
Drying was a bit tough. Winter time and fighting low humidity so she dried in 10 days. Typically my target is 14 days so we feel a bit short.
@GreenHouseLab, Buddy, everything in my tent was fighting for light haha. Only so much room in there with that Norther Lights. I would have to agree with you on this FFT and the Gorilla Girl they both are looking like their structured to hold a lot of bud, however the stems on my Gorilla Girls are much larger than this FFT. She is built like a gorilla 😉.
