Trying to learn what plants I like to grow the most. This run is a test of each strain I ordered from seedsman.
Blueberry is a clone from a seed, As I only had one of these seeds I didnt want to risk flowering it and losing a good pheno, So instead I grew that seed and cloned off of it.
Maui Waui is from seed, and looks pretty wonky here, it got a bit out of hand during veg as I didn't have a screen in there. The seed has been vigourous though and I have high hopes for it being the only pure sativa in the bunch,
Cheese is a clone taken from my last grow. I cloned it off the seeded plant before they went into flower. My last run with cheese went well with dense buds and good potency.
Buttercream gelato is from a seed and has pretty interesting growth. It has been hard to keep nitrogen up in it and pales to lime much quicker than the other plants around it.
Buttercream and Maui waui have been vegging for 2 months.
Blueberry and chees have been vegging for 6 weeks
This is a test run of each seed I ordered from Seedsman
Maui waui is from seed and got a bit lanky it will be intersting to see how it does under the scrog.
Buttercream gelato is very hard to keep nitrogen balanced it seems to burn through it and becomes pale lime much quicker than the others.
Blueberry is a clone from the orignial seed. I did not want to risk losing the pheno by flowering that seed.
Cheese is a clone taken from the two cheese plants I gre from seed in my last grow. The cuttings were taken right before flip.
Cheese and Blueberry are in 5 gallon fabric smart pots while the Maui waui and Buttercream are in 7 gallon smart pots. This is because those plants are quite a bit older than the clones.
I am very interested to see the differences in these 4 very different strains.
Scrog screen that was in this room was way to slack and had far to large spaces. I ordered a new one and it fits better. This one has 88 sites. This should allow me to manipulate the branches better and fill out the canopy more.
Buds are well developed and smell strong throughout.
I am particularly pleased with Blueberry as it has very large dense buds.
Maui is awesome as well. Even though Maui went in with huge stretch between nodes I am pleased with how it has filled in. The buds are very different in shape to the other plants in the room. They are very round and dense. Maui smells intensely like lemon pledge and almost a burnt rubber scent. Like the actual smell a skunk makes.
Plants are doing amazing, I got distracted for a couple weeks and haven't posted but they are all doing great.
Maui waui has a very lemon citrus smell.
Blueberry has massive buds that are very dense.
Cheese has good sized buds that are hard as rocks already.
Buttercream has very packed bud sites. It definatley needs more defoliation next time to help clear the interior and light it up a bit.
All in all I am pleased with how they are all doing.
Maui Waui's lankiness has not been an issue and its buds are very pretty and frosty.
Everything is looking great !
Cheese is nearly done, it is starting to show amber.
Maui is very happy and smells amazing, it just glistens with tri-chromes.
Buttercream is doing well but I think it will take a week or two longer than the others.
Blueberry is looking awesome very large thick dense buds. No Blueberry smell but a very strong plant otherwise.
*Update
Buttercream gelato started throwing Banana's so I removed it from the room. I trimmed it down and did not notice any other signs of hermaphroditism but I will still harvest the plant now just to be safe.
There have been no issues with light or heat fluctuations at all, nothing that would trigger it to Hermie that I can think of which makes me think genetics are the issue.
I have One other Buttercream going that was cloned before this one went into flower. If it hermies late in the bloom like this one has I will remove the strain from my rotation.
I am not particularly pleased with the structure of Buttercream for scrog in any case.
The plant that I took down had very large bud sites but were no where near as dense as the other strains in the tent.
I had high hopes for Buttercream gelato but Both times I put this strain into flower it went Hermie at 5 weeks in. This was in two separate grows under ideal condition's. I would not recommend this strain due to this.
This was a nice strain overall, The plant needed a lot of nitrogen throughout the grow cycle. It had great structure and Grew Massive buds, but 6 weeks into flowering it through out hermaphrodite bananas on the top buds. This did not happen to any other strains in the room, and grow conditions had not changed. I am currently growing a clone from this seed and we will see if it shows the same tendencies. The buds that it grew were very large but as I they did not go the entire 8-9 weeks they did not have very good density. The finished product was still a nice light green aromatic bud.
Other than having to remove the Buttercream gelato from the room and harvest it because it went Hermie everything else is going well.
All plants are fattening nicely, air flow is good, there are some sings of cupping on the leaves of Blueberry and Maui Waui,
I rearranged the Scrog and pulled the larger buds lower to help combat this. Cheese has some amber on it already, which lines up well with the timeline for harvest of my last cheese plant which was 15% amber at the start of 8 weeks.
I will let this one go a bit longer if possible so I have a slightly higher cbd version of cheese to go with my high thc batch I harvested last crop.
Blueberry will likely come down a week after that and Maui could go up to the full 10 weeks from what I am seeing.
Added Silica, Enzymes and Molasses to my feeding regimen.
I add the silica to tap water mix it and then put air stones in the resevoir,
I let that sit for a few hours then add my Micro, Gro and Bloom, then add Cal Mag and Sensizyme and Molasses. I use a drill with a mixer attachment to mix it well. This really helps with the molasses.
I find if I add about a tablespoon of fish fert to that mix I end up with 6.5 PH.
Fish fertilizer stinks but the plants love it.
Plants had a great last week
Fed with with Molasses, Sensizym, Silica and CalMag, twice and then 2 more feedings of plain water throughout the week.
There has been little to no growth in the plants at all in the last week.
From examination through a digital microscope I can see the Trichromes are all milky, with maybe 5% amber.
Cheese is slightly more ripe than Maui Waui or Blueberry.
All buds on all three plants are very dense and hairs have receded.
Plants are sucking up 5 gallons every other day.
Maui waui is a bit of a slow grower in veg but during flower tunrs into some very nice dense piney buds. The structure is very round and dense, the nodes are fairly far spaced which makes it good for scrog. The plant had 0 problems from seed to Harvest. A pleasure to grow.😀
Blueberry grew very large dense buds. No issues with anything during the grow. The plant just wanted to grow !. Oddly my pheno has almost no aroma at time of harvest.
Cheese is a very good strain. It is very hardy, produces dense buds in as little as 8 weeks. The buds may not be the largest but they pack on tri chromes and are super dense.
