Hello welcome to my first organic grow. As well as my first photo grow. These are local genetics from here in Michigan.
Literally bred 45 minutes from my house.
Full Metal Jacket Fem - Gg#4x(Chem91xOG18)
Sweet Leilani Fem - (Pineapple Trainwreck x Nom Nom)x(Chem91xOG18)
Bot have the same mother or father, I'm not sure how those equations work.
Both FMJ popped first. First was a helmet head. Some minor surgery and it worked out fine.
First Leilani to pop was also a helmet head. Several major surgeries and it worked out fine. The second didn't pop, but the backup I planted when I peeked at the dead one, sprouted today. I'll do a week 1 veg update Saturday or Sunday to show them in their final destination. And highlight some upgrades/changes I made in the 3x3. Happy growing!
Well this week I managed to get them all into their final pots. I know it's not a popular thing to do with photo period plants, but it's best for me. Those little grow bags I started them in dry up quick. I also moved anything that might supply light when the tent is supposed to be dark, to the outside of the tent.I purchased an awesome 4 inch exhaust with a brushless motor. That means you can adjust the supply current from 100% down to 0%. Meaning I can set my exhaust just beyond my intake and keep temps and humidity super stable.
watered them in with Recharge. The pots were already pretty dry again 3 days later (today). That's my guess as to why they are droopy. So I fed Mammoth P and Photosynthesis Plus to get some more microbes in there to do their thing.
I don't like to go in there unnecessarily, because as you can see in the pics it drops the tent temps pretty dramatically. It is usually 79 at the top of the pots. When it gets warmer than that that's when I know it's getting dry. I'll have to be more mindful so they don't get dry again. Otherwise they are good color and have mostly been full of vigor. Thanks for checking in! Enjoy your week.
They look very good to my eye. Maybe a bit slower than the autos I'm used to. Usually I would have topped them by now. And really the only one that is actually 2 weeks old is FMJ #1. The rest are just shy of that.
Top dressed with foundation and continued rotating microbes with every feeding.
Once the third set of leaves comes in a little more I'll top em off. I want to leave a little nub so the stem won't be prone to split. Check back in a week and I'll post some pics of what I mean. Stay positive, everybody. Covid sucks ass.
Not much going on above ground for these youngsters.
I topped them. There are a few new leaves. I think they are more focused on them roots. Sweet Leilani #1 is showing a couple leaf spots. I think the tap root my not yet have punched it's way out of the biodegradable bag I started it in. Those were filled with very light soil. It's all good, she'll work it out.
I'll start lst when they get a little bigger.
Check ya later.
Full Metal Jackets are growing nicely. They look almost identical so I hope it's a good pheno. They are taking to lst well and I've already got them trained nice and flat.
Sweet Leilani however isn't responding as well to my less than perfect technique with seedlings. #1 looks to be getting more green and #2 is looking a bit nitrogen toxic. So I will probably hold of on nutrients for her next week.
Overall I'm happy. Thanks for checking in.
Sloooooow going. My temps are fine if not ideal, humidity is steadily above 40%. Yet these plants still look weeks behind.
If you are reading this and my parameters and see any glaring mistakes please feel free to drop a comment. I am definitely new to organic growing andI just don't know what to do.
I started PHing organically this week. I ordered a water conditioner from Microbe life. It's not here yet, but soon. And if my video uploaded you'll see a product from Microbe Lift that will hopefully kill any fungus gnat larvae in the soil. Beyond that adding Armor Si back into my nutrient schedule is the only other thing I can think to snap these plants out of their funk. Good luck everybody else!
These plants really perked up this week. I did some defoliation and continued with the LST. I popped the tops off of the three tallest branches from the center of each FMJ. That will hopefully keep them from getting too tall. And of course turn three tops into six.
The Full Metal Jacket ladies are really starting to veg very nicely. At this rate they will be the majority of the canopy.
The Sweet Leilanis are also looking much better. #1 is still the runt, but she strong. #2 which popped like a week later than the other 3 is overtaking her big sis in size. Also #2 had large blotches of purple on some of the more mature fan leaves that I removed during defoliation. Some of the new ones have purple tips too. So I think she's a purple pheno!! 😃👍💜💜💜
I was planning on flipping to flower this week, but that would be stupid at this size. I'm just going give them some time to grow to the size a 5 gal plant should be.
I think the combination of the water conditioner, the organic ph down and the BMI larvicide is doing some magic in the soil. They look really great. I top dressed at the beginning of the week with Uprising Grow and Foundation. 1 tablespoons of each a piece. Have a good week.
It's been a few weeks since I deleted my Banana Blaze diary (tossed them) or contributed to this one. I was having so much trouble getting my humidity levels to a proper veg percentage. And was experiencing deficiencies as well as slow growth.
To fix that I converted my 2x4 tent into a sort of humidity box. I opened 1 passive intake and ran the intake fan for the 3x3 as an exhaust in the 2x4 with a short length of ducting between them. I've also placed an oscillating 16 inch fan in there to keep the floor dry and to keep any mold from settling. Last and certainly not least I put my newest best humidifier in there on an upside down 5 gal bucket right in the center pointed at the fan. Luckily it also has a built in humidistat. So I set it at 65 and it keeps levels from dropping below 55% (unless I open the tent for an extended period). The humidifier also has a sleep mode with no lights, so the 2x4 tent will also be my new drying space, and serves two purposes. I think in the near future, I will be picking up one of Gorilla Grow Tents shorty 5x5 tents. So I have space for 6 to 8 plants as well as the necessary accessories (humidifier, heater, decent sized fan).
Anyway... it's all seemed to have worked and though, they aren't as big as I would like. I'm sick of veg. I aggressively lollipopped them and took 3 hrs of light away Tuesday and 3 more yesterday and I'm excited to say it's fucking flower time! These strains both take 9-10 weeks to flower, so they will have equal flower and veg time and come down in 20 weeks. Patience is my only option and I'm pumped to watch them flower. I'm sorry if you were following along. I just wanted to focus on what matters and that's growing happy healthy plants. It didn't seem like too many people really check these things, let alone read my ramblings. To be honest I might just finish this diary so my conscience doesn't get the better of me for leaving the first High Caliber genetics grow on this site unfinished. This all seems like a lot of work on my part to promote somebody else's business. Thanks for checking in, happy growing!
My humidity levels continue to be perfect this week and the ladies are digging their improved environment.
Full Metal Jackets have grown about a foot this week. I got carried away when I defoliated last week on #1 and nipped off a main top too😫 So it only has 5 main tops. But she's strong and vibrant so maybe they'll be 5 huge buds. #2 is bushy and has tons of tops.
Sweet Leilanis are super compact and grew up a bit this week, but not a whole lot. Much more of an indica structure. I may have to re-rearrange in a few weeks so I can lower one of the lights to their level for the fattening up of the buds.
I backed off water for all 4 plants again to 2.5 liters every 2 days. Even after 3 seasons of growing I still want to water too much. What a stubborn idiot I can be.
My fungus gnat problem is pretty out of control. Plants don't care, but I couldn't be more fed up with them. How in the fuck do people get rid of these things?!? As I have mentioned before, I have tried everything from sticky traps to literally flushing neem solution through the medium twice. And all the powders and sprays in between.
Anyway they are starting to smell nice after their first week of flower. Female parts on all 4 plants. Can't wait to see how the flowers look. Have a good week everybody.
no trouble this week. Full Metal Jackets are tall as hell probably 40 inch. Sweet Leilani #1 stretched a little. Sweet Leilani #2 did not. It's kinda crazy but #2 is about twice as thirsty as the other three, despite being the smallest.
I also defoliated her a little, because her leaves were stacking like crazy.
Probably the last defoliation I'll do in there. I'm not a huge fan of stripping too many leaves.
Bye.
Looks pretty great in the 3x3. Every plant is terping up nicely. They are drinking 3 liters every day or so. High Caliber Genetics living up to their name with that week 3 frost.
Week 4 of flower went great. Soil Ph was drifting up wards a little, so I watered a couple times at 5.5 and it came right back down. They are drinking heavily and and seem very happy with the 7 separate microbial products and about 2 tablespoons of each Uprising Foundation and Bloom every 10 days. As well as the Terp Tea once a week also as a top dress.
Full Metal Jackets both very tall and proud. Getting frosty AF and just starting to smell strong.
Sweet Leilanis both short and stocky. #1 less so than #2. #1 is bulking up great and I'm expecting some fat Indica nugs, hopeful from both. #2 has crazy pistils sticking out of the palms of the leaves 🤷♂️ Not extra smelly just yet, but both are on their way.
My dirt is smelly enough to overpower the flower scent at this point, but every product I feed is a different kind of disgusting smell. So not surprising.
Six weeks to go! Good luck everybody.

It's warming up here and I refuse to run an air conditioner in march, so there is some cupping leaves. Tent temps haven't really breached 80 so they should be ok. The three big ones are dense as hell and the little lady in the front left is kinda airy and leafy, but insanely frosty. Trichomes are all cloudy. I will chop next weekend.
