๐All the older leaves and leaves tangled together inside the dome have been removed. The buds are slowly ripening and the vigorous growth has subsided. Mostly red pistols and lots of cloudy trichomes. Still a lot of clears and other than at the tips of the colas, there are very few amber. I have been using a DSLR with a 55mm lens and macro rings added fro the macro shots. I also inspect the plant with the USB micro scope. Its a very low resolution camera, but its easier to do quick surveys of different areas. To get good pictures of the trichomes takes a lot of patience so I only take a few withe the usb. The DSLR is hard to move around so I just choose one cola and photograph different spots on the bud. I take a bunch of pictures at different settings. After lots of trial and error I figured out some of the settings that can give me nice pix with a wide view. I can then open them on my computer and zoom in closer to get clear details with richer colors than the USB camera. I crops some of the pictures and due slight lighting adjustments.
๐ I am trying to choose when to harvest based on the the state of the trichomes. Its very close and I just waiting for more ambers in the mid and lower areas of the colas. Just looking at the tops of the colas there are plenty of amber. But there are still a few too many clears everywhere else on the cola, so I will try to be patient and am just going to continue to fertigate and irrigate to keep the media balanced.
@@FirstCough, I appreciate your kind words. It's really hard to see the full size of the colas because of all the leaves. The buds are getting plump. The Queen cola is going to be a beauty...as long as luck is on my side.
Plant looks great. I like her shape it looks happy. I was gonna ask about the tennis balls too but gussed you would have been asked already๐. Just had to scroll down a bit.. Good luck for the rest of your grow.๐
Wow! Your plants are huge ๐ I already chopped mine yesterday, these plants just wanna flower forever it seems. I was finding new herms every day so I decided to end it, even though there was still a lot of new growth. Interested in seeing your results ๐
@FrogLord, Thanks! I think the stress that was causing the hermed calixes was the reluctance of the trichomes to mature to mostly cloudy. What's also odd about this plant is that it didn't start the new calix growth until it's tent mate was harvested...as if it was devastated that it's lifelong partner was killed. ๐ฟ ๐ท
Looking good mate. I love that raised up grill tray tennis balls. Iโve thought about doing the same sort of thing ages ago itโs so simple, I should think it would be quite tricky to remove when itโs bigger for maintenance but well worth a try good luck mate.
@nelly31, Thanks! The tennis balls are to keep the rack from poking holes in the floor of the tent. They also make it easier to slide the plant around. I don't have to remove my plant from the tent, but if I did the rack also would make it easier to pick up.
Thank you very much for trusting our strains, and sharing your experience.
And thank you very much again for the score of 8 out of 10!! ๐๐โค๏ธ
We hope you enjoy the harvest ๐
Sweet smokes!

@Smokwiri, wow such a hollow gesture. Am I supposed to be excited that you've spammed mine and hundreds of other diaries with the same crap? I'm not honored or impressed. ๐
