DWC_LED | Purple Punch X Dosidos

Hey guys! Welcome to my Philo Seeds (limited editions) Purple Punch X Dosidos diary! 😀 This strain was chosen for an all-rounder relaxing strain with hopefully a nice fruity taste. Basically looking for an easy smooth smoke that packs some power but I don't expect strong effects. Also she looks beautiful in other grow diaries and friend grew her out and recommended her. I never had 'good' purple punch so very curious as to how she ends up tasting/smelling - as always I am hoping for at least a bit of fuel in the taste 😛 The plan is to have 4 plants this run, with 2 big ones (Kmintz and OG Kush) which will go into bigger 30L dwc buckets and 2 smaller ones (purple punch x dosidos and la x sorbet) which will remain in these 12L water capacity oxypots. Will top till 3rd internode when she has 5 internodes (in a few days probably)

Day 36 update: Last week I was too late with changing the water res so had a nute deficiency, changed the res and now she is doing better again :D Still at least 35 days left before flipping to flower.

day 43: Topped for the 2nd time this morning. All going slow and steady --> not using enough air pumps to get full potential from the DWC system, but anyway they have another 30+ days before moving to the flower tent so don't want them too big either.

Day 50 update: She handled the topping of last week well, however she seems to be the most fussy of the bunch, getting yellow leaf tips and asymetrical growth. Will top her a 3rd time soon!

day 64: Purple punch X Dosidos doing well, becoming the tallest plant in the tent! She seems to be the most fussy of the bunch, showing nutrient deficiencies the earliest and having the most 'weird growth'. She has much more stretch than I would expect with LA Conf genetics in the mix, might need to top her once more as flower will start in 2 weeks (so she will have good time to recover from topping). Will need to keep this one from stretching too much 😅

Day 83: She is doing well, the most sensitive of the group. Larger internode distance and thin branches. Also the roots are half the size compared to other plants in same system same settings, this plant may possibly be having a harder time in hydro or just coincidence with the phenotype I got.

moved to larger hydro reservoir in bigger tent under stronger light did a big defoliation, left top 15cm started flower She has the smallest buds and weakest stems and seems most prone to deficiencies up to now ==> Will probably have the most resin ^^

normal hybrid stretch slightly sensitive to the light ==> put the light higher

Stretching nicely! A bit long internode distance and small buds and slightly more stretch than the rest, but I bet the quality of the resin will make up for it!

defoliated 2 days ago, she reacted ok but isn't the biggest fan of defoliations. internode distance the biggest of the group bud size the smallest of the group >>> first to develop thc of the group :D not much smell yet

She is doing great now that the light is a bit higher! Pretty small buds uniformly covered in resin :D She already smells a bit like extracts! There are definitely peculiar smells coming from her :p Will probably be the lowest yield but we are aiming for quality and it looks like she is promising :)

==> Decreased the base nutrients for less Nitrogen She is doing great! Smelling stronger and with more personality than last week :D There are not many calyxes but they are swelling slowly and nicely :) Starting to get some purple colors in the buds already :D Her branches are thin and buds are gaining in weight so she is starting to fall! I will tie her up soon :D

Day 42 defoliation later today! 😛 She is doing great! 😃 Buds are gaining in weight, branches starting to hang a lot! The branches are thin and even though there is not much bud (long internode distance, small buds) there's enough weight to start making the plant collapse! 😅 Going to tie her up properly in a week or so. When I open the tent a nice sweet herby smell fills up the room 😀😛 Her buds already started coloring last week and now the leaves are turning purple! 😍 Her leaves are the most thin of the group and longest internode distance which are traits that align with sativa growth patterns, hoping she will have an intense and full-bodied taste :D Real curious about this one I have never tried good purple punch before... 😛😀

==> lowered light power to 75% ==> Planned harvest date in 14-20 days, which would result in 66-72 days of flower (documented as an 9 week/63 day strain in breeder info, and +14 days on top of breeder info is normal so she is ripe pretty fast IMO!) 😍 ==> Will feed without nitrogen starting tomorrow ==> She is falling over... her branches are very thin and weak and despite the buds being small, half of her branches are falling on the neighbouring plants 😂 OMG SHE IS SO STICKY!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Ok she will have a VERY low harvest 😅 Next time I will leave more branches since its looks like a main branch only will produce 2g 😅 I am very satisfied though 😍 When I touch her buds i instantly get hash on my fingers! So sticky! She has a dank heavy "nasty" (in a good way) purple-ish smell with some sharp-creamy notes! Its hard to describe I never had something smelling similar but I think I will enjoy it very much 😁😁😁 ***** EARLY TEST ***** -> A branch broke at day 48 of flower -> I dried it in a drawer at 40%rh with no air circulation and leaving the buds on the branch with leaves on them. -> After 4 days it was just about try enough to burn (I should have waited another day!), I tested a bong hit.... WOW she is strong I never expected the effect to already be so developed! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌😁😁😁😁😁😁 ==> Strong physical high numbing and mentally relaxing but NO DEMOTIVATION so very comfortable and pleasing effect and for the quantity it is very strong! 😈😈😈😈😈😈😈 Since the effect is a very narcotic and relaxing effect (not sleepy!) it is easy to handle her power (no paranoia, no loss of memory) 👍 If you are looking for quality over quantity I can recommend this strain very much! Even if I have not harvested, it is clear she is FAR ABOVE AVERAGE QUALITY 😍😍😍😍 Thank you so much philosopher seeds! P.S. Checkout the last image (zoom on the resin)! ==> Lights set to 60% power for last 10 days Harvested the next morning (day 66 flower) before lights on! 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀 She turned purple/grey nearly all over :D 😋😍😋😍😋😍😋😍 Her buds are small, but very uniform and sticky 😍 Her sugar leaves have so much resin they look as potent as 'normal buds' 😍😍😍 ===>>> 😍 She has a peculiar chemical extract smell that nearly reminds me of nasty/dirty places, which should cure into something special because I have never smelled this before in cannabis flowers 😍 <<=== ***** HARVESTED ***** Dry method: ........................ entire plant upside down in 18-19c 55%rh Dry time: ............................... 7.5 days (small compact buds) Dry weight: ........................... 45g Yield per square meter: ... 405g/m^2 Current rh in pots: ............. 62%rh ************************ ===============> Will update with pics and most importantly the smoke test, rosin press results & review AFTER 6-8 WEEKS OF CURE :D
