*Success! 100% Germination.
Seeds popped today. Soaking in a glass of PH'd mineral free water for the night and then planning to drop them straight into rapid rooters.
Looking forward to getting another grow under my belt. This winter seems long already and I think I need a plant or two in my life =)
These seeds were kindly gifted to me for winning the newbie of the month last year. Looking forward to applying lessons learned in my previous grow to push these little ladies as far as I can.
Post germination I think I will let these grow out for a while and will likely choose the strongest plant and cull the rest. But we'll see.
I will keep this diary updated as much as possible. Any advice appreciated.
Cheers.
Happy so far. 100% Germination and all look normal.
I am running a DIY RDWC system and it's ok but I'm having trouble keeping the solution temperature down. I am planning to putting a couple frozen ice bottles in the res daily to help keep it down.
Will add more info and photos over the week.
Mars Hydro light running at 90% strength and 30 inches above the seedlings. I have the Technaflora recipe for success nutrient kit and I'm following their schedule at half strength. Resulting in a PPM of approx 350.
Everything looking nominal. One girl is looking a little weak but that may have been my doing. All others look more or less the same.
Nutrient schedule the same. Did a res clean and replace.
Using reverse osmosis water. PPM’s hovering around 280-300. Water temp 20ish °c
Week 3 has begun. Everything is looking ok. No sign of deficiencies or over feeding. The center plant's first set of true leaves have drooped at the tips and I've put that down to the fan blowing directly on it. I now have the small fan pointing away from the plants just acting to circulate the warmer air down.
I have bumped the PPMs up to 470ish still waaaaaay under what the nutrient manufacturer recommends for the vegetative period. Less than half. Plant's seem to like it and roots look healthy. Other than a slight discoloration which I'm pretty sure is from clay pebble dust.
Will update this week as we go. I am planning to give 4 plants away and keep the strongest one this week. I'll also probably top her and then I'll have to leave her on her own while I go to camp for a couple of weeks!
She’s looking happy I think.
Picked the strongest and gave the others away to a buddy at the beginning of week 4.
Topped at day 21 from seed.
Topping slowed her down for a couple of days but she seems to be coming back with a vengeance.
She is exploding!!
Unfortunately can’t be at home as I’m away from work to take care of her.
She needs some training but I don’t think I’m going to get home in time to do it.. may have to just let it do it’s thing. I’m glad I topped it though. I’m a little worried I’m going to run out of vertical space.
Comments to come.
Filling out nice.
* Finally returned after a few weeks in camp. Grateful to my lovely wife for taking care of this lady. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to do LST to keep her short. I think the ship has sailed there as she has really started to stretch. High internodal spacing on this one compared to the last plants I grew, it has kinda caught me off guard as I'm starting to get short on space in the tent. I removed the LED driver so I could mount the light higher in tent to at least maintain some space between it and the canopy.
Starting to smell nice, very earthy, grassy and weed smelling to me.
Roots look healthy, will do a nute change in the coming days. I haven't been following a regimented feed as I have kept the same solution for the last few weeks. I have been maintaining nute ratios but just freestyling when it's added. The objective has been to just maintain the PPM's around the 750 mark. It seems to be working nicely. PPM's gradually drop off indicating that the plant is taking up the nutrients.
Did a little light defoliating to the underside of her.
All in all she looks happy & healthy.
Looking good, Did some light defoliating and a lot of tucking and twisting to get the canopy a little more even.
Have been struggling with humidity this week as the snow is starting to melt up here in Canada. Might have to time my winter grows a little earlier next time!
Got the dehumidifier going fall blast but still getting condensation in the tent.
Smells good, not super strong but nice!
Flowers starting to fill in nice! lots of bud sites, hard to tell if she's going to be a big producer or not. Got my humidity under control now, got it settled around the 40% mark. PPM's coming down with the water level indicating good nutrient uptake. I'd like to do a full nutrient change but with the lady hardly being contained in the tent its a bit hard. It's bit late but I've done a little LST and even some super cropping on a couple of branches to even the canopy.
From now til the end I'll just be adding RO water and nutes as needed. With my previous 2 grows I think I've harvested on the early side so with this one I plan to let her go a little longer. 4 weeks into flowering and I suspect she has another week or 2 to grow!
WOoooooo Frosting up sexy! Got a little tip burn so reigning it in with the nutrients.
Otherwise happy with how things are going. I suspect the bud sites below are going to mature a lot slower than the tops, probably another 2 weeks to go I reckon.
nice bit of stretch though. For these long nodes ladies , tip spreading could be a good method. I am a few weeks behind you. good to see they can be leggy , cannorepare for mine better now. thank you. good luck
I see golf balls forming.lol always a great sign. like domes of brain tingling tentacles. lol
obviously glad Dad's home again!. heehee
keep up the great work
