I started germinating my seeds by placing them in a glass of pHed de-ionised water for 20 hours. Once the medium was buffered (not too much), I took the seeds out and immediatly could see some root coming out, I must say I was impressed. I planted them directly in the medium and will spray some pHed water regularly. I just got the seeds on small pots and covered it with small plastic bags so it could keep the moisture for longer. I will uncover them once or twice a day to let them bread for a couple of minutes. I will keep the light off for about 18 hours now and will turn them on, at 65cm distance on the lowest setting. Now I'll just wait. I had one problem though, hope I could get some help with it. When I fed them the water had a 5.7 pH but the runoff was much higher, reaching 6.8, nearly 7 at times so I don't really know what to expect from it. Fingers crossed.

My runoff has way higher pH than the water I fed the plants to. About 1.0 diference (5.6 in, 6.6 out). I'm only feeding a little cal mag and rhizotonic... should I do something diferent or wait for a few more feeds and see if something changes? Thanks guys!

i some people will beg to differe, but ~6.5 is perfect. My nutes are buffered to hit that. I trust professional Ag company's research/experience. In this context, it could mean a slightly alkaline soil. if you can't impact it with lower ph'd irrigation over time, it's almost certain microbial or maybe too much of some slow release amendment (lime can do this, for example) -- cause and effect.. can't happen by coincidence, if not one of these 2 options, then something else. more importantly, the development of your seedlings will tell you soon enough. I'd try to push it down to 6.5 range or your intended target through irrigation. If not maybe some sort of gypsum or similar top amendment that will slowly acidify substrate and counterace the constant change caused by 'whatever' factor.
