Day 35
Bulking up and getting frosty.
Started using RO water a few days ago. My pH shoots super low after adding the nutrients (3.1). Not sure if the pH pens were reading right. I have a couple cheap pH pens and an apera ph60 and they all read about the same thing. My tap water is 8.3 and after adding nutes, it usually drops to around 6.8-7.0. I usually add earth juice crystals to get it to 6.0 and call it a day. Need to get some pH up now.
I watered in the nutrients once already at the natural state of 3.1 with no change to the plants. I water in recharge once a week and I’m pretty sure that’s whats keeping them from becoming deficient or locking out. Gotta love beneficial microbes. Recharge raises pH, but that’s irrelevant since the microbes increase the pH range your plant will uptake according to Scotty(creator). I just watered them again with the 3.1 solution and did a recharge feeding a couple days ago.
I’m still getting some earth juice ph up soon. I feel more comfortable knowing the pH range is in the green.
Added a hurricane 12” wall mount fan to my 4x4... it sticks out too far but it pushes some serious air. Not sure if I will keep it that way or not. I cut a 2x4 and drilled some holes in the top and bottom of the 2x4 board. I ran zip ties through the 1/4” holes I drilled to secure it to the top and bottom poles of my tent. I then attached the bracket for the fan to mount to on the 2x4.
I had a pole mounted oscillating monkey fan for a while and I loved it. It broke after only a month though. Found out they were recalled and returned it to my hydro shop. They took it back for store credit which was cool. They have a 2nd version out now but I’m gonna wait on it to see if they are any better.
Day 36
Bought the earth juice ph up. Takes quite a bit more than the ph down to get the reading to move. Brought it all the way up to 6.3. Added a bubbler and pre mixed some nutes cause I’m going out of town for work. My friend will be caring for them in my absence. They’re pretty much on cruise control so as long as they don’t over/underwater, we should be good.
I hope the ph up keeps the solution stable. The EJ ph down worked well in that regard.
The girls are getting very stinky, had to turn up the fan to my scrubber.
The blueberry gum smells exactly as it’s namesake. Powder sugary berry smell. She’s also got the fattest buds. Typical since it’s also the shortest plant.
Critical hog has a hashy, earthy, coffee type smell. Typical afghan type smell.
Strawberry glue just smells sweet, nondescript.
Cinderella has almost no smell, just a weedy smell. Kinda surperised since the leaves are littered with frost. Not sure if Cindy is supposed to be a stinky strain. I hope she develops a pineapple flavor that some report.
@Jeff123fish, she’s very subtle. The other 3 are much louder, but the Cindy has trichomes growing on top of the trichomes. Quite possibly the frostiest I’ve grown. They’re coming down this weekend.
@Jeff123fish,thanks! She smells like overripe tropical fruit. Smells have deepened lately. Almost rotten. Like puke.... but more chemically if that makes sense.
Congrats! As far as I understand, growing different type of plants (Indica dominants, Sativa dominants) at the same time is very hard due to different watering and etc. But, you did with very very nice results. It is totally nice.
Dude your plants are beautiful! I love your set up and your canopy. Very efficient!
Cindy 99 is one of my all time favorite strains based on some dispensary herb I got one time. It was so pungent none of my friends could stop talking about it!
Growers love!

Keep up the great work.
