5 maybe 6 or 7 Blue moonshine seeds from a new(for me) breeder. One of the seeds had like a weird siamese twin. so 5? 6? 7!? lol we'll see. This is the beginning of a very long breeding project and will be a test run for a lot of things, thus the small population for initial pheno selection and testing. Pollen chuckers and geneticists welcome but pls no poo-pooing amatuer breeding. Thanks guys, I hope to learn a lot here!

So far so good. Hoping for 2/3 or 3/2 M/F ratio but whatever. In the middle there is an earthy citrus pheno of ILGM Bruce Banner. Never seeded her before so hoping she is a little slut haha! Transplant time!!

Gonna try and get these to stretch a little so I can top clone and flower to sex, collect pollen and test the first round of possible parents.

I haven't given these the attention they deserve and it shows. However, despite that, They seem to be managing ok. I cloned them later than I wanted. In the process of cloning I also noticed some nutrient deficiencies. It is beyond the 30 day mark so duhhh.... I vow to be vigilant from this day forth with these little ladies, except they had to get flipped 2 days ago. I am going to dose em up good and transplant into 2 gallon bags. I think the 3's might be just wasting dirt. Any feedback on that? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->^

Day 36: Confirmed one male / 4 unconfirmed. Transplanted into fresh FFOF in 2 gallon fabric. No nutrients this week. Gonna flower in the 2 gallon bags. I usually use 3's, but I don't have a lot of space and they are very small going into flower.

I found 3 males, 2 females. The two mutants were both males so they have been scrapped along with their clones. The remaining male is a gorgeous vigorous stinky SOB. Out of the two females, One (#2) is the second most vigorous of all the seed and the other (#5) is a runt. Both already are putting off some smells. I will go very light this week on fertilizer only scratching in 1 tbsp each of happy frog all purpose and fruit and flower. I have chosen #1 as my P1 and #2 as my P2. #1 is the male and will also be crossed with blue dream, gold leaf, and bruce banner as well as the #2. I am constructing a male isolation chamber. It will not be located near the females. I will post pics of the project. I will cross #1 my only remaining male and reserve the clone as P1. I will cross it into #2 my most vigorous female and reserve her clone as P2

Got my first wiff of this stuff already!!!!!! Smeared a tiny little young leaf off the BM5. Usually at this stage you don't get smells... but holy wow!!! #2 is not putting out the crystals as much yet, but she's filling out a little. #1 pics finally here. Ghetto ass cardboard box with a hole cut in the top and a 10$ chinese clamp lamp with a cfl. $25 male flowering chamber lol. Hey, it's working wonderfully. I am strongly considering just seeding both of these ladies and waiting for the clones to grow up to test the smoke... Either that or brush a few buds and let the rest go. I am completely in the dark at this point in the process aside from info I have from the interwebs.

They are exploding with flowers! Looks like they will be all hash plant style spears. I won't complain either way the smells are wicked. These things were flowered TINY!!!! I was just going to seed them. Turns out I will test these and seed the clones. Daddy doing very well. 4 or 5 open flowers. waiting till peak then removing buds to dry for pollen collection. Nipped a little flower cluster that had a few open. got a little pollen to pollinate a branch or 2 on the ladies 4/20/21: clipped a tiny chunk of open flowers off daddy and got a little pollen. I will pollinate the #2 and #5 tomorrow.

These ladies are looking amazing and the smell is exactly what fermenting blueberries would smell like I think? It's wicked! #5 has a sharp earthy bite underneath it but # 2 has the vigor!!! found nanners on the #2 though, I will not seed this one. It might be the vigor of #2 to add bulk to the dankness of the uber stanky #5. This is my first F1 line Had to chop #2 :( Found some nuts on another bud and chopped both chunks out... Then I decided that if I saw another I was gonna pull it. 2 minutes later I found another. Chop! I lied. I had set her aside to chop but couldn't bring myself to do it. So after a day in the dark she has returned to the general population with an uh... haircut :) Can't seed her, but I wanna see how she finishes anyway. Only a few weeks to go.

I am really glad I kept flowering that #2. She looks like a true blue moonshine. If she made any more male flowers, she did so very discretely. I have watched her like a hawk. The #5 has already blown my mind with it's resin production, smells, and flower structure. She only lacks vigor. The male is almost done making pollen. I have a little collected, but my box chamber left a lot to be desired. I pollinated my two favorite bruce banner phenos and a gold leaf. I am super excited for both crosses, but I need to make sure this pollen makes it until I flower the clones of the #2 and #5.

I think I know, but, what are your opinions or even better statistically proven methods for a regen? I need to seed this lady and her clone looks like it isn't gonna make it. My plan is to chop a little early, leave some green on the bottom, refertilize and throw her back in 18/6

That's exactly right, you may want to do a heavy flush first to wash some of the nutes out and perhaps transplant into some fresh soil and a bigger pot.

Harvested #2 at day 58. Probably a week or less early, but I need to give the re-veg the best chance for success. Smells: Standing nearby she smells skunky. If you smell her closely she smells like fermenting blueberries. When you trim her and piss her off it's like someone sprayed a can of lemon pledge in your face. gawd I can't wait to taste her. #5 still going strong. I did find 2 more male flowers. I hate it because she is beautiful. This will be the last run on that one, but I am equally excited to smoke on some of her!! I figure she is around a week away. 91/59: #2 is REALLY frosting up!!!

Growing these plant was fairly easy. I would rate them as moderate. Some experience with individualized fertilization is handy on these. Read your plants. I had two mutant males, one vigorous male(p2), a vigorous lady(hermie) and a runty one(p1). I kept the latter 3. The Vigorous lady popped out about 6 male flowers. I mostly caught them early and snipped before they opened, but of course some sneakers got through. Seems to have not seeded the plant however as it was very late in flowering. I can't use her for seed though and it was my first pick. The runty female turned out to be the most delicious bud I have smoked in about 20 years. Her clone died, however, I did get a successful re-veg. She is only a couple of weeks from giving me clones again, then I will flower her(p1) alongside the vigorous male(p2). Because these are from Bx2 seed, I think I will be starting from F1, but I am hoping to only have to go to maybe F6 with a Bx in there somewhere to find something relatively stable. We'll see. This is new for me. Harvesting this stuff was a real pain in the ass. It's kind of hard to complain about but the damn resin!!!!! It took me 4 hours to trim the #2 and I have 4 pair of scissors I rotate through. Unvieling the beauty while enveloped in her VERY pleasant aromas made it bearable. Oh the Horror!!!! Pics and smoke report updates incoming as they get dried, jarred and cured. I could not have selected a better strain for my first breeding project. It is my dream smoke. I have a stable male and the #5 re-veging as well as five more of the original Bx2 reg seeds. This is the end of episode 1 of the Blue Moonshine Chronicles. Stay Tuned for the next episode! #5 is alive and well in a follow up diary https://growdiaries.com/diaries/110399-grow-journal-by-dirty-hippy
