Nice looking. I sure would like to know more about the Genetics. I have been searching for Puna for years. Real Puna Budder. Mmmmmmmm, nothing like it. I have not found any of TH seeds anywhere. I have had real Puna Budder from the Islands, wayyyy back in the day. I am planning on making my own this Winter or Spring. I have a photo period straight run Afghani and a Fem Hawaiian. Looking maybe for some landrace as well. So I will have Male Afghani and Fem Hawaiian for propagation.
I have a Gorilla Glue #4 Auto crossed with a straight run Green Bean Sativa. Germed 4 seeds and 4 tailed. They look to have the "auto" genetics. Time will tell.
@Roosterdoo, hey buddy. I don't have much experience with the old school Hawiian heirlooms so I don't have much to compare to but all of the guys a little older than me that have smoked some of the the greats like Kauai electric and Puna Buddha are always banging on about the strength and sweet flavours so I decided to try and find some. I reached out to a few breeders that claimed to have strains that claimed to have the real deal. Most either didn't reply or said they was out of stock and offered alternatives apart from Big Island Genetics. The guy that owns BIG lives on the island and claims to have the originals from the elders of the island. He gets a lot of stick from others for either sharing the genetic or they claim he's a liar. I decided to drop a couple hundred dollars on a few of his beans and see what they were all about. Super sketchy payment process lol he's not really setup to take payments so I had to wire money via cashapp and hope he didn't rip me off but they arrived with some freebies included. All seeds are regular from BIG. I was skeptical but I've grown out both Puna Pilau and Electric Purple and both were spot on. They both have that classic Hawiian sweet/rotten fruit terpene and are great plants. I 100% recommend reaching out to BIG and having a chat with the guy he's super helpful and will hook you up. Even if they not like what you remember, the strains are top-notch and you won't be disappointed. They have a Punna Buddah IBL available on their site right now.
WOW, real PUNA?? or just a nick name?
From what I understand Puna Budder was From, T.H. Seed Afghani cross with Hawaiian?
I have been looking for Puna Budder, for years, some of the first green bud to hit the States from the Islands that I recall, (Wayyyy back in the day) and a flavor I will never forget. I plan on making my own and have the Afghani regular seeds and just need a pure Hawaiian Pheno. I am not sure which Pheno was the Male, so I plan to cross both ways. I do believe a great deal of the flavor comes from the soil and growing conditions. I am alllll about the Flavor.
I am very interested in the genetics.
Hope for a great grow for you.
Wow thanks.
Rock on. and LOUD
