sup bro, yeah for LST you gotta bend the entire stem not just the leaves. So in your case, you pull between 2nd and 3rd node in one direction. And in order to secure the plant, you make an 'anchor' by securing the bottom-most part of the plant by slightly pulling it in the opposite direction. This is so that you dont accidentally pull your entire plant out of the soil. Check tutorials for clarification
You want light to hit your first and second node sidegrowth, they will then grow upwards and longer. This way they also become 'important' branches and will produce colas as well. When they are long enough, you pull them away from each other so that they each have their own space to grow
