31/5 Day 49 - LED lamp now on 24h - Water: Gave them 1.5L of water. Also with nutes. 1ml/L so 1.5ml x2 on each plant cause of the increased water from 1 to 1.5L. Summary for the day: Much more trichomes now on both plants. The bigger one is one step ahead though. They have stopped growing in height. Length of Plant #1 is now 37 cm and Plant #2 is now 42 cm. Leaves at the bottom has gotten yellow. I cut them off. - 3/6 Day 52 - LED lamp now on 24h - Water: They got water yesterday as usual. Summary for the day: Today I had big problems with keeping the temperatures and humidity right. It's been around 29-30 celsius the whole day with humidity of 45-58% and I can't manage to make it go down. This is because it's so hot outside. - 4/6 Day 53 - LED lamp now on 24h - Water: Gave them 1.5L of water. Also with nutes. 1ml/L so 1.5ml x2 on each plant Summary for the day: They have stopped growing in height but getting fat now :) - - 6/6 Day 55 - LED lamp now on 24h - Water: So today I actually flushed the bigger plant with clean water (22L). I did this because I was afraid of a "lock-down" in the plant. All leaves started to get "brighter" but apparently it was probably just fine. The PH-level measured was 5.5-6.0 and I'll check again tomorrow to see if there's a big change. The smaller plant got 2L of clean water. Summary for the day: Temperature is around 22-24 celsius and humidity 34-50%. I had a little problem to keep it stable so I hope I'll managed that now. -

Please check my latest photos above. Because of taco leaves/curled, I turned off the fan last night and also raised the LED to about 16cm above the plant. When I checked in the morning. All the leaves on both my plants was raised up and still had curled sides.

This looks like light burn to me. Your LED still looks too close to me. Have you checked with Manufacturer of your LED for recommend distance? Mine recommended 18-24”. But I was having light burn also. So now I have them 30” away - no more light burn. My suggestion would be to raise your light. Good luck! 👍

Humidity at 30% is too low , you need to look at the Vapour pressure deficit , and use the corresponding amounts , roughly 60% at 28C , test the runoff ph and EC , also I would add some cal mag to the feed at 0.5 ml per l . Flushing I do 2 weeks in soil , and hydro , drying can be done at most humidity levels at temperatures above 20C ,as the temperature goes up you NEED more humidity 👍

sup bro, yeah for LST you gotta bend the entire stem not just the leaves. So in your case, you pull between 2nd and 3rd node in one direction. And in order to secure the plant, you make an 'anchor' by securing the bottom-most part of the plant by slightly pulling it in the opposite direction. This is so that you dont accidentally pull your entire plant out of the soil. Check tutorials for clarification You want light to hit your first and second node sidegrowth, they will then grow upwards and longer. This way they also become 'important' branches and will produce colas as well. When they are long enough, you pull them away from each other so that they each have their own space to grow

@MagnoliaFrost, u good bro, they should be done in 2 weeks or so. Earliest maybe in a week

@Ganjalf, Hey.. please check out the latest pictures from today if you have the time. I'm asking around to see what people here think of the time until harvest. I have taken photos of both plants. What is interesting is that the bigger plant has more trichomes but less cloudy ones than the smaller one. The smaller one has always been a couple of days slower in the progress. Let me know what you think :) I'm going on vacation tomorrow and will be back on the 17th so that'll be in about a week from now. I have a friend that will feed them but I do hope they won't be ready for harvest until I'm back. Have a great day
Ganjalf
Ganjalfcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, hmm just by instinct I would say its because they dont have enough nutes. There arent any burn symptoms, and leaves are pretty flat and nice, not clawed. You could flush once and then give a feed, if it gets worse. Try adding a bit more first though, and see what happens after a day or two. Also, try to get the temp down bro! Its not necessarily bad, but high temps can cause the buds to be more fluffy and leafy. 24 is ideal!

2. you tie a pipe cleaner or garden tie or sth soft to one branch and bend the plant over. have a look online, there are many tutorials, it'll give you an idea. 3. 110w is okay for one plant I believe, I suggest looking into LED growlights especially since you re going to have two plants. Dont know much about tungsten lights so I'm just looking at the actual watts. I'm not really an expert on LED's so have a look on some forums aobut that and how many watts for two plants. There are many suggestions out there on which LED's are good, just find one which matches your needs, so to plants and the size of your growspace. The more watts the stronger the plant and faster the growth!

Ganjalfcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, sorry bro, I am not that experienced with nutes :/ but yeah for bloom nutes you gotta wait until the stretch i think, so maybe in 2 weeks
MagnoliaFrost

@Ganjalf, Yes I'll do my best ;) I already asked another guy here this question but you are so quick on answering so I'll ask you as well: I found this really interesting post: https://www.autoflower.net/forums/threads/tangs-easy-auto-feeding-schedule.47290/ I posted a picture of the Sensi Bloom. Wondering if I need to wait and for how long before I can use that. I have transplanted in Gold Label Special Mix Gold Edition Premium or something and I guess it will have some nutrients in it right? In that case it means I must wait with Sensi Bloom?
Ganjalf
Ganjalfcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, I read it 😂 no worries. But okay, now youre in a bigger pot so you gotta be extra careful with watering, especially with soil. There are two things you can do actually, a bit later when shes bigger, you should try to pick up the pot and get used to the weight before and after watering. After a while you'll be able to notice when shes dry because she will be much lighter. The second thing you can do if youre unsure about watering, is wait until the leaves droop a little when they are thirsty. After you water them they will recover very fast and the leaves become straight again, maybe 10-15 min.

Listen... your plant is just moving some Nitrogen. It's called the die back , she is sacrificing the bottom to save the top. From what I have read from your nutrients inputs, you have given the amount of A and B that is good enough for seedlings... technically you should be around 3 to 4 ml/l of each at this stage of her life cycle... I don't see any tips burns , symptoms of over feeding. Neither purples stems and petiole, the first symptom of a Mag problem.... and pH lockout doesn't exist ☝️ So... after diagnosis... its just a die back , it usually happens to new growers when they switch from Grow nootz to Bloom nootz as the same time than they switched their light cycle... No need to freak out, Mother Nature is smart , your plant won't die suddenly from a day to another, and as it is almost done just keep on doing like your doing , she will loose one leaf after another slowly till the end of her life ... you won't need to flush it like salt farmers does , just give it plain pH'd water for the last week 😉
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNScommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost,Yes, give them plain water between every feeding, following a Feed Water Feed W F ... schedule until the second last week, as the last week will be with plain water only. The flush won't be necessary as you didn't nuke them during all their life cycle, the last week of plain water will be enough.
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
@JUNGLE_B4RNS, So keep giving them 1ml A and 1ml B for each liter water until last week? No flush needed? And as I said before, I don't have anything to adjust the waters PH-level so it will be tapped water last week.
JUNGLE_B4RNS
JUNGLE_B4RNScommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, just keep on feeding her like your doing until last week, and just plain pH'd water in the last week . AN pH perfect is supposed to set your pH in the right range, so technically you don't need to adjust your pH . pH 6.0 is alright 👍

Hi Mag, Looking good, brother. Your grow is coming along nicely. Try vaping a nug or two over the next 2 weeks, watching your trichomes to figure out what trichome combination provides the effect that suits you. Some of your buds are ready now, some are not. Personally, I would hold out for another week or two. Look for a bigger bud swell and a higher percentage of cloudy trichomes.. There is a high percentage of amber with some of your buds.A selective bud harvest may be in order. Best wishes.

Mr_Positivo
Mr_Positivocommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, You're welcome. Happy to throw in my 2 cents. The beauty of vaping, Mag, is you don't need to dry the bud to test a budlet or two. The vape does the drying for you. I use an Arizer extreme q to good effect and highly recommend this procedure.
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
Thanks @Mr_Positivo, :) Do I need to do a fully dry process of that mug to be able to vaping it? I agree with you on waiting a little bit more. I wish I could do a selective harvest but that will be a problem. I'm going to use the same grow tent for the drying. I want the tent to have a temperature of around 21-22 celsius with a humidity of 50-60% during 7-10 days of drying. I don't think a selective harvest will work to combine the remaining buds with the drying process because of the temp and humidity :/ Have a good one and thanks for joining the conversation of my first grow ever 😃

@bobo420 wrote “The longer the drying process the 'smoother'/better tasting the bud” This cannot be overstated. It is the reason for a recently harvested plant as never before, in the hopes of better taste: uprooted the entire root ball, bagged it tight to the stalk so soil can’t fall out, and hung it dirt and all upside down. It’s been 6 days and the flowers are still quite moist in a dark 50%RH room. #experimentation Lol

@MagnoliaFrost,OK, if your soil is 5.5 I wouldn’t worry about ph’ing your water. The ph of the soil should gradually increase as you water/feed.
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
@DudeGrowsWeed, I haven't done any ph'ing at all. I guess my tap water is around 7-8 but the soil from Gold Label is around 5.5-6 I think.
DudeGrowsWeed
DudeGrowsWeedcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, 5.5 is fine, but you don’t want it to go lower than that. Are you ph’ing your water down? If so, what is your ph when watering/feeding?

30 degrees is quite warm I believe, I think the in the 20s is safer. As for the yellow, I think it's normal, sometimes it happens. It will disappear when the leaves grow bigger. I think the stem is alright, but if they keep stretching too much then you need to lower your lights more. As long as your LED isnt super powerful and frying her, you can put it a bit closer. And as for growth, she seems to be doing fine. It's slow as everything is happening below, and once the second set of leaves are somewhat big, she will take off!
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
@Ganjalf, That's good news and I'm glad you want to guide me. Some questions I've put together below when you have the time :) - 1. Is 28% humidity ok? - 2. LST'ing for autoflowers? I've hear some people says their aint time and doesn't really help cause you don't have the control over flowering state when it begins? - 3. I now have 6.5cm distance from top of plants and LED. I've had it since last night so that will be 5 hours of light in that distance now. I don't see any strong yellow/brown spots on the leafs so far, This must mean it's ok right? - 4. Regarding the LST'ing - The 60x60 tent is 120cm in height. How do you think is a good way to think about that regarding to the size of the tent? -. 5. I have two options for pots. Which one would you recommend? Option 1: Capacity 10L - Width 25,5 cm - Height 29,5 cm https://shopcdn.textalk.se/shop/17746/art46/h7561/17097561-origpic-e38454.jpg?max-width=1440&max-height=1440&quality=50 - Option 2: Capacity 11,4L - Width 27 cm - Height 21 cm https://shopcdn.textalk.se/shop/17746/art46/h6745/7096745-origpic-f44024.jpg?max-width=1440&max-height=1440&quality=50 - 6. I'm using a LED lamp now but as I've written before. That LED is something I use in my work (cinematographer). The price of it as probably over 1200 dollars though but that was a while ago I bought it. Should I buy a new one specifically for this? Any one that you could recommend?
Ganjalf
Ganjalfcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost on a second note, I think this tent will be enough for two plants. What youre going to want to do is start LST'ing at the end of week 2 or so, I'll try guiding you. It's also a good way to learn this technique, and it will allow you to space the plants. Also, LST is important since your bubblegum strain can reach up to a meter (in the best circumstance), which is too close. We need to have the plant around 60 cm which is possible with LST :) If you have a 11L(3gal) pot laying around, try it and see if you can fit two. in the space. If it's too big then try it with 11L square shaped pots.
Ganjalf
Ganjalfcommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, I wouldnt know about how many plants as I only grow one at a time :( try to find info on closet growing online, I am sure there are many tutorials :) and yes normally when you transplant it should be the same soil since that's what your plant is used to, you want it to feel familiar in its new home.

@MagnoliaFrost, I'd go with the standard, maybe a few degrees more but would keep an eye on the buds and the air circulation
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented6 years ago
@bobo420, Ok. So what RH would you recommend for me now when there are hot days like this? Around 25-26 celsius in the grow tent?
bobo420
bobo420commented6 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, from what I can see those are the values just for when the plant is growing. the ranges you say ~21C with 50-55%RH is right and that's what I do. at first 2 days 21C with 45-50%RH then 19-20C with 50-55%RH for the rest of the days. Higher humidity and higher temps could cause mold/mildew issues. The longer the drying process the 'smoother'/better tasting the buds

@MagnoliaFrost, sure. I also look at bud swelling and development, specially if I already know what she can do, ripeness of the pistils, color changes in the whole plant and overall structure. I also listen, surprisingly they have a lot to say, one just has to pay attention 😉
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
@CaciqueCayacoa, ok. Interesting :) Do you have any examples or hints on what else to look for in these coming days except the trichomes?
CaciqueCayacoa
CaciqueCayacoacommented7 years ago
@MagnoliaFrost, I'd say to rely less on trichomes and listen more to what the plants will tell you, it takes time but once you understand you will be harvesting fully developed plants with their full potential on display. Trichomes are just one part of the whole picture and not so reliable as to whether they're ready or not.

magnesium deficiency if the pH at the roots is too low, especially in hydro. That is because when the pH of your root zone is not in the correct range, your cannabis cannot properly absorb magnesium through the roots. Often with this deficiency, the magnesium is present, but the roots cannot absorb the magnesium properly due to an improper pH. Therefore it is very important to maintain the correct pH I’m pretty certain go to my red poison diary last weeks look at my bottom leafs have had this same problem It starts with the older bottoms fan leafs and spreads if you don’t stop it can kill your plant all together also it can stump growth I would suggest flushing her for any salt build up them leafs will not go back and will stay that way now but if fixed it won’t spread
MagnoliaFrost
MagnoliaFrostcommented7 years ago
@@Tryhard, great. so when I flush her. It's 30L because I have a 10L pot. then wait until she dries up. then keep doing flushes until harvest or after the first flush, just keep watering as normal but without nutes? Thanks

1 you gotta check humidity online, I dont have a tool to measure this so I have no idea 2 you'll probably need even a bit LST especially if you want to grow two plants in the same tent. LST wont slow her down if you're gentle enough, it all depends on how you do it 3 what is the strength of your LED? In true watts, not the equivalent 4 your strain grows up to 60-100 cm. Depending on your light and how the plant grows, we will see. 5 you know what you can do, you can take one of each pot :D and you can compare how they grow, see which one better fits your style. Both are good 6 do you have the name of LED? Whats important are the amount of true watts and the kind of light (spectrum). Most growers buy LED grow lights which mix red and blue spectrums specifically targeted at photosynthesis.
