Ordered these Fastbuds genetics from Seedsplug and they arrived in official packaging. I ordered on the 3rd of Feb and they arrived on the 19th of Feb but a couple days lost due to bad weather in my area.
I'm germinating using the paper towel method
I hope they all sprout and I don't get any problems with this grow
Day 5
These girls sprouted out of the soil on the 23rd of Feb which is when I'm starting my Day count at.
One of the seeds germinated 3 days after the others and is still struggling (see red cup in center) so I germinated a 5th seed to replace and will likely toss the little runt if nothing changes in the next week.
I bought some long totes to use to catch water run off which should make flushing easier.
I'm using 5gal Vivosun fabric pots with Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil.
I wont be using any nutrients during Veg but in a week or so I will start using Real Growers Recharge to help stimulate root growth to really fill these 5 gal pots.
Day 12
Things are coming along as expected this coming week I will water once with Real Growers Recharge but other then that no nutes or amendments.
Initially I germinated 4 seeds but one I figured was a dud so I germinated another because I planned to grow 4 plants. The dud seed eventually sprouted and that is the one in the red solo cup. Its growth rate is very slow and not worth taking a prime spot but I'll let her keep growing in that red solo cup just see what happens.
Day 18
Thinks are looking good so far - I topped them on day 15 and watered them once with Growers Recharge.
They are surprisingly stinky for being so young without even flowering yet so I hooked up the carbon filter
Day 32
These girls are already over 2 feet tall and have begun to flower and its only been 32 days since they sprang out of the soil. Im impressed by the speed of growth, this definitely looks like a 8-9 week total kind of strain if it keeps going like this by the end of next month ill be chopping it down but we'll see.
Some of the leaves have yellowing, some have spots and dried up edges, lots of strange little issues that could mean multiple different things but unless its affecting a large part of the plant then im just going to ignore it for now.
This week I will feed with PH Perfect Bloom A and B once and add Terpinator for every watering.
Also, these plants stink! In a good way
Day 39
Lots of flowering in the past week. I put the two plants on the right on crates to even up the canopy, I decided not to use my scrog net because I don't think they are going to get that much bigger but instead just start fattening up so I may add the net later if it becomes unmanagble.
I also have a lot of yellow/burned leaves so not sure what the problem is as the only major change this time is that im using tap water from earlier on then usual so I got some RO water and will try using just that for the next week to see how it goes.
Day 46
I somehow burned the crap out of these plants in the previous weeks so Im just watering now. I don't know how it happened.. But plants are still growing and putting on mass - the flowers are getting frosty so i guess they will pull through but maybe lost some weight on the back end.
I harvested at about week 9 1/2 so I skipped the last couple of updates.
I somehow burned the plants very badly but I am unsure of what did it. This next grow im not going to use any nutes at all.
Ended up with 14.6 Oz total
From what I gather, the burn was probably nutrient burn from the nutes building up in the soil. What kind of soil was used? I've been told that when growing autos in soil, nutrient burn can be a common problem. Most likely because the soil does too good of a job at retaining nutes (unlike coco coir). It looks mature, which is amazing that it took under 10 weeks! Happy tokes!
@AvoidantGrower, this is actually my first grow, but a man smarter and wiser than I, had me invest in Ed Rosenthal's book (highly (pun intended) recommend it). I'm actually doing an all organic grow because I'm not familiar with using nutes. It very well could have been the soil, as I've read that it loses it's potency over time, or if not stored properly (allowed to dry out) with regards to super soils. I haven't even fed my babies yet, but I plan on going compoat tea as I've heard this is the best way to recharge super soils. Also, I've been told to be wary of mixing different brands when starting out, as not all play well together; not sure if this is true, but it sounds right (a Jack and Pepsi is not a Jack and Coke, mind you).
Either way, your harvest still looks bang on, and happy tokes man!
@@Cannabis_Chris, I was using Fox Farm Ocean Forest and I thought I was being careful because I only fed them twice for half the directed amount. In the past I've gotten nute lockout or nute burn but it was much later in the grow life cycle after several feedings but this started really early so I suspect either my Sensi Bloom or Terpinator is bad somehow. Or possibly my soil was toxic right out of the bag somehow.
