First week is going great. I was using General Hydroponics nutrient line and they were all having issues with Nitrogen and Iron. That's when I found Golden Tree as this all in one healer. After looking into it further and funding out that had a discount on their website I bought the entire Humboldts Secret line of nutrients. The smaller Mango has started going back to a more even normal shade of green while the bigger is taking a little longer. The pH pen was not calibrated as often as it should and could've led to the imbalances. The scrog net brought everything down about 4.5 inches as they were only 12 inches do to lots of light supercropping and LST holding down branches and getting them to stretch out instead of up. Scrog has definitely opened up lots of lower bud sites to the full light and are turning up and catching up quickly. I go in every morning and retuck a couple leaves that are blocking light or slowly shifting their final locations. So far I'm very happy with the grow and will detail things further in other post as to not drag this one out too long. Great to be a part of growdiaries and this amazing grow community. Later Growmies!
One last defoliation before letting then go wild only clipping large fan leaves blocking lights from reaching tops. Still seeing a little nitrogen toxicity and phosphorus deficiency. Dropped my Base A and increased my Base B to lower nitrogen and increasing phosphorus. 1 more week to hold steady before I start adding in my Flower Stacker. Besides the minor nutrient imbalances things are loving ahead wonderful and cant wait for the true buds to start to form!
This week has been all about getting the nutrients right for flower and diving deeper into the world of VPDs. Definitely saw the most stretch this week out of any so far. Good 8-10 inches put on this week alone. Raising the light on avg .5 inch per day. This strain has not wanted much nitrogen at all and has been craving phosphorus so I obliged. Had to switch to General Hydroponics Calimagic to further lower my nitrogen and had to completely drop Base A which had way too much nitrogen for these ladies. Base B has slowly been increasing to supplement the needs and just started my Flower Stacker or PK Booster that caused insane pistol growth and trichome production overnight. It looks like they may have stopped the flower stretch and will slowly increase Flower Stacker this week. Time change just threw me off this morning not able to go into my grow room for another hour. Lol. Super excited about the ways things are growing and look forward to harvest day!!!
The Humboldt Secret line was way too strong and heavy on Nitrogen and the plants were struggling. I decided to do a 4 day flush with just pH water at 6.0 to bring everything back into range and then started them on Heavy 16 nutrients at 50% It took a few days to adjust to the new nutrients and the left Mango is loving life. The right Mango still wanted less nutrients and dialed it back. They're both doing great and starting to put on the trichomes.
Man what a week. The flush last week helped a lot. You can definitely see the effects of nitrogen toxicity in the right plant as it struggled to produce buds early on. Dont think it will ever catch up to the left but its showing signs of being much happier with the Heavy 16 nutrients. I have started alternating feed and water days and they've responded favorably to that as well. The right Mango still doesnt want full nutrients and fed her at 6ml/gal of the A+B and that also seemed to make her happy. Half way through flower I'm finally learning what these ladies like and know next grow with this cultivar will be much easier as my clones from the left are thriving.
This week has been all about watching the pheno #1 put on weight while watching pheno #2 be very slow to accelerate so figures what better time to do some experimental training. A little late to be starting supercropping but figures why not try and increase the yield on #2 since it's too sensitive to extra nutrients. 2 branches I may have gone a little too far with and ended up removing them after 3 days not recovering like the others and hung them to dry. Perfect accident they'll be ready to sample on 4/20!!! Lol. About 3 more weeks until the 63 day avg the cultivar finishes but may give them an extra week just for weight since they started a little slower. Onto week 7!!!
