Strawberry Cough week 6/7 of flowering. Temps staying into the 80s during daytime and down to the 50s at night. Spent the last week deconstructing her cage and rebuilding a little more suitable setup with the tomato cage and bamboo stakes to hold up her heaviest tallest branches. Defoliated a bit more in the center where its blocking light to the budsites. Now...we wait...and wait..and wait, until probably October. 😁 Thanks for the support everyone. Happy harvest.

Im preparing for the curing process, Does anyone know how long you should do this for? Are there different results for doing it longer or shorter? Anyone got any cool tricks up their sleeves or things that worked well? Thanks for the help. ✌️

After the buds have dried (crispy outside and the smallest stems snap) fill your airtight container(s) 3/4 full. Week 1 open each container for 5 min each day. Week 2 open each container every 3 days for 2 minutes. Enjoy your smoke and add bovada packs if desired (don’t do this before week 3 since the idea is to move moisture from the inside to the outside of the buds) and continue opening once a week for 5 minutes. The flavors, smoothness and aroma will continue to improve for 3-6 months. For storage beyond 6 months buds should be kept frozen.

Wow just as a start what an amazing difference between regular hardware store soil and the Fox Farm soil...it is just so pretty, dark, and nice white perilite. I'm one happy, excited little dirt digger. :)

@Experimentgreen, a 300w LED would be perfectly suitable mate πŸ‘ŒπŸ¦Š
TheFoxFarmer
TheFoxFarmercommented6 years ago
@Experimentgreen, the more powerful the light the faster the growth, although I think 1000w is a bit too much in veg. Especially when they're young ✌️🦊
Experimentgreen
Experimentgreencommented6 years ago
@TheFoxFarmer, thanks fox...any opinions on lighting during those first few seedling veg weeks? Ive got either a 1000 watt led or a 300 watt led...what their true output is though i cant quite say as i dont have a light meter and dont fully trust all companies "specifics".

@Herbalize, thanks so much. I cant take all the praise though...if it hadn't have been for my mama being willing to pop by and put the hose on em while i was away, they surely would've died! Lol so thank goodness for mama being one hip old lady. I think indoors just intimidated because everything's man made and electricity, light leaks all that. Where as outside mother nature and the sun has my back. Indoor its just me...and the grow community.

@Experimentgreen, yeah I ended up deleting my IG. I tried to keep it going this second time around but the whole Facebook/Instagram/Twitter is just not for me. Some random person on GD messaged me telling me they used one of my outdoor photos, that’s cool. Well I am glad you are doing well, I didn’t forget about you 😘
Experimentgreen
Experimentgreencommented6 years ago
@Ironlungs, there you are! I was thinking about you lately, wondering where you had popped off to. I'm good. Where've you been? Did you disappear off a couple places? Ig? Or am I just not looking properly? GD used one of your outdoor photos one day on there πŸ˜ŠπŸ’š

Wow I really love the strawberry cough . I havent smoked it in 8 years or more. About nine years ago I had two great strawberry cough mothers . I was able to gather 50 healthy clones and place them outside in a forested area . They grew great most of them fell over and grew horizontally from the forest floor. great tasting strain . Amazing outdoor producer
Experimentgreen
Experimentgreencommented6 years ago
@JDwculture, seriously! Ha that's hilarious and awesome! I'd love to go sprinkle seeds around the mountains in my area..just to see if anything would pop up . I love strawberry cough... but i think this particular seed may have been an off one, as it had an overabundance of leaves everywhere and odd bud structure. But it could be the growing conditions too.
