Update - 04/03/2021
All is going smoothly. Iv transplanted one of the banana blaze autos into soil and will probably do the same with the other when it gets a bit bigger and can handle it. I am going to try using microbes to negate the need to go down to a ph of 5.8-6.2. See if i cant get a hempy-bucket that i dont need toi ph - that would be the dream! Also i forgot to put cling film or plastic cups over them for humidity this time.
It's the first time i've used a peat type pellet and it was ok but i prefer the glass of water technique until i can see tap root then it goes REALLY close to the top of the pot.
I'm actually just over week two now but we'll have to wait til i can get there again to see what they look like as i forgot to take pics of them when i was last there!
UPDATE - sat 6th March
Doing good for first week. The change of light made all the difference. One is a hempy that I am going to add some worm castings and I’m already adding loads of microbes so it should buffer the ph for me.
UPDATE - Monday
I ordered some worm castings so I can mix it with my coco and perlite, as well as a few other goodies so I can treat a hempy more like a soil grow but get the benefits of the passive hydro system.
I’ll probably use around 10%.
I’m still waiting for my fan and my microbial product that is made by the same people as charge.
It looks great. Loads of ph buffering microbes to munch on the vermicompost and enable me to get away without spending 60-70 on a ph meter.
UPDATE - Saturday 13th March
This week has been ok but I need to take it easy on the nutes! Especially with the soil one. Ooohhhhh 😵why did I use soil. It’s really annoying because it’s at weedy little seedling stage and iv obviously over fed it.
I added some worm castings to the one on the right in the hempy bucket though , along with ecothrive biosys They should break down fairly quickly given how packed with microbes and micorhyzae to buffer the ph of my hempy buckets to where I need them to be. I don’t even bother with my ph pen now. I’m glad I didn’t spend £69 on one but it would be good to get a decent one at some point. It’s not top of the list though. Grow space number three is looming and this time I actually have the equipment. Only problem is I don’t want to use my old converted wardrobe. It’s too small and pretty pointless. If I’m going to have a tent in my studio flat space where I have to hear the fans or rather the varispeeds hum.
I’m very tempted to take the big grow tent out of that room and then paint the walls bright white and just vent the room. Instead of the tent. The ductings already there.
Then I could move the bigger tent somewhere else in the flat.
The thing is - I started growing to provide me with my medicine, however, I’m in prohibition-land. So far I haven’t had the space to be able to get a monster harvest. My last one was the best so far I think it was 2.5oz between three plants.
I have decided to turn it into an auto tent (shout out to fast buds for sponsoring me)
They are just so easy. At first I was worried because i thought the lights were on longer but they finish so god dam quick from seed to smoking. I’m f surly sure curing autos must take longer than growing them.
That fastberry is coming along nice but It’s such a non bushy plant. Like lanky but in a good way. A lanky green stem with these random bright purple buds on the tops.
This is the first grow I’m
going to use a proper magnification device when I need to check trichomes.
I think iv been harvesting too early. Well actually just last time because I was scared the police were coming. LOONG story. Anyway, I’m looking forward to being able to see those thrich’s get cloudier and cloudier. Will make some nice source photographs for my art also.
I nabbed these awesome plant holder uppers that just poke into the soil in the pot and they are round and have sections to put cola’s through. They look really perfect for auto’s final bushy look once trained.
UPDATE - 24th March, Wed
The week has been good, mainly due to the sample I was sent from onestopgrowshop.com of the plant magic evolution 2.0 in a solar spray.
Saw the difference the light cycle after.
I think it was that, in combination with the microbes that have made the difference.
Also iv been watering the soil auto with a 200ml measuring syringe giving it minimal amounts of water whilst it’s stil small, squirting circles around the edges so the roots spread outwards.
The one in the black hempy bucket obviously hasn’t reached the res yet and because it wicks up moisture and I think i put a top dress of castings on top so the water/air holding potential of the coco is changed.
I think the microbes are doing their job because the plants are growing fine, especially the one in soil looks happy as Larry, trouble is, it’s in a pretty small pot probably a 3 gal so the plant ent going to be a monster. I’m going to try and fim again as soon as I get good grow shoots again as I want it to spread outwards and you gotta be quick with auto’s.
I just want the hempy ones to actually reach the reservoir and take off like the photo - ayahuasca purple has. I ordered a load of those coco expandable compressed seed starters that come and you soak them and they expand for one chamber of my propagator, I also bought some branded Root Riot starter cubes but iv nothing to sit them in as my propogator is a long tray underneath with three seperate mini-ish propogators. About the size of a 6 pack egg carton- which is what I was planning on using to hold it all in place inside the propogator. I’m just a little worried about the fact they are made of cardboard and will soak up the water.
I suppose I could give it a really thick coat of acrylic paint so it seals the card.
I dunno anyway, my point of explaining all that is I’m going to just straight plant my seeds into these.
When i see roots, I will use the mini hempy buckets I made from old foot tubs that m+s sell their chocolate brownie bites and stuff in. Also the clothes whitener I use comes in them so iv plenty. The roots love it, expand quicker and more compact. I’m also not going to stop at the size I’m growing in now.
Iv seen some nice square opaque plastic tubs with a lid that is like to buy that are 18 litres so I’ll step it up to that after not very long at all in the 11 litre tubs.
That’s why my barneys photoperiod is doing so well, because I used that method with that plant.
I also got one of those GHE Ph testing kits. They are meant to be pretty accurate and let’s face it, with what I’m doing with microbes already even getting it into the hydro ball park would make less work for them to do. I just need to get more patient at waiting when I add ph down (it’s always ph down as my water is hard as fuck and comes out at roughly ph 7.5 if my first ever measurement of the electronic ph stick when I got it is to be believed.)
Even though I doubt I will use it every time it will be useful be able to keep some water that Is roughly in the right range.
I think that’s all I have to ramble on about now so I’ll go!
Cheers for the positive comments and likes.

- More followers equals more friends that grow, it’s illegal here so you can’t just find someone on the street to talk to about it!
- Also with what Is happening with brexit, it can’t hurt to try and make some personal contacts in the Netherlands for seeds or just breeders that will continue to ship to the UK, maybe even from the UK on the ‘free’ market.
Genetics would have to be stable though
UPDATE - 30th March
Ok so I lost one of the nana blaze autos by Dutch passion. My bad. I don’t think I rinsed the perlite at the bottom in the reservoir coz when I went I get rid of it it absolutely stank and was all rotten together. From now on I’m going to stick to bigger chunks of rock at the bottom of my hempies.
Oh well more space, onto the next I still have one which is doing great! I dunno whether to repot or just leave it and get a small yield. I’m not massively attatched to them given what I have in the pipe line.
This plant has been behaving really nicely to be honest. Growing beautifully, although I tied down each of the two main nodes after had grown out after topping. This way the side branches are the same height as the rest of the canopy and i should find I get a little more from it.
It's also still not started flowering properly (there are one or two pre-flowers but that's it soi decided to re-pot it into a slightly bigger pot with more soil, some worm castings and some perlite. I also had a product I bought a while ago which is a micorhyzae innoculant that You mix into your soil, even though I use either recharge (if I'm flush) or ecosys now that I know it is basically as good. It is doubling up on mycorhyzae but the ecosys has much much more than just micorhyzae so it's worth it. I wouldn't necessarily buy the one that you mix into the media again, however, they sent me a massive bag of it. I ordered a small tester and they sent me the biggest one they do!
I also Bought the heatsink for a new light as it was going for a very good price and is in pretty darned good condition. I am a little annoyed as the bar light frame didn't come with any actual lights (I realised after I had bidder but that's cool, i luckily have built quite a few lights now and recently bought a proper soldering iron so it shuld be good.
To be honest I'm tempted to mount 5x 20w cheap Chinese COB's as On my tortilla glue grow I used exclusively cheap Chinese cobs and the weed came out so frosty, I just fucked up the grow by overwatering, impatients and basically not getting nearly long enough. We all start somewhere and at least I got a harvest but the little bud I did get was amazing, absolutely frosty as fuckand really strong and that was bag seed!
UPDATE - 11th April
Things have just been chugging along nice and steady since the reply and she is showing lots more preflowers now so I have started feeding her the bloom mute along with weekly feedings of ecothrive biosys at 1g/L.
She seems to be loving it, lucky coz i don’t have the room for any more. I need will soon need tHe space. Dunno wot else to say really. As you can see I have a fully flowering plant that I'm not 100% sure what it is but it's DEFINITELY RQS, firstly I recognise the way it flowered and the way the buds structured themselves. There are some donkey dicks on there. Definitely the biggest auto I have grown. Especially now I'm learning to read the plan, not the label! (Also figuring out floraTRI-PART is a three bottle program ALL THE WAY THROUGH! if no idea how I got such a good fastberry by using just two of the three bottles at a time!
Oh well, we all make mistakes.
I also bought a big bin, filled it with water and put air-stone in there connected to an old fish tank air pump. With the lid on it's surprisingly quiet. Obviously it's PH'D correctly. ThatS why I did it.
Just been thing down some branches when Thu are noticeably higher than the canopy. Looks great. Was debating on changing lots again but she's early flowering now so I don't need much point. Also the pots havnt been pre-drilled so they are PERFECT for turning into hempy buckets, which we all know I love!! They should have an option for hempies on here...i did contact them but I dunno we'll see.
I also removed hire a bi of follisge in the middle of the plant for better air flow.
Update- Monday 19th April
Looking so good. Soil grows with liquid organic nutes and microbes is so little maintenance. Iv had to add my other 100w light on it also at the moment but it’s gonna have to be pinched for the purple punch.
Need more light. Awaiting 10x citizen clu-048 1212 COB led’s and all the heat sinks just no drivers yet. Will probably split it up so it’s not just one massive light. Alternatively I will just take down my tent and use the room. Paint it white, hang the light from the ceiling etc but that would be a longer term plan.
Update - Sunday 25th April
The weeks been good to this plant. Everything is going smoothly with the soil grow. Much easier to pull off but much slower than using synthetic nutes.
A lot less time intensive also.
Update - 30th April Friday
The week has been good. Iv just realised The temp in this tent doesn’t go as low as I thought. I realised this by looking at my temps on my app from my thermostat. Looks like it goes down to about 20 degrees.
The buds are actually starting to produce a beautiful smell and some density to the buds.
Looking good basically!
Update - Wed 5th May
This plant has been so stupidly easy to grow so far (touch wood). The stems so fat and I just kept tying down the branches. You can see in the stem photo that it split pretty bad but healed well.
I love how easy organic in soil is. You water with one fertiliser at a time (don’t have to bother ph’ing ) and add some microbes and just keep tying the branches down.
I’m really interested as to how this tastes when she’s done. I’m just sick of having such a small grow room. I’m looking forward to setting up the flower room by simply taking down the tent and painting the room white.
I will be hanging a 500-/+W led COB light and putting 5 plants in.
I have citizen CLU-048 1212’s I ordered a multimeter as I’m not sure which version voltage they run at so I’ll figure that out then buy two meanwell hlg-240H-AB or if not probably one A and one B. I’m interested in the potentiometer option.
Should be good. I was going to put up a stud wall but actually I don’t need to coz my veg tent, firstly, is obviously light proof, so I don’t really need to and obviously I have more lights so I can probably move my veg tent and use the whole room for flower ( even though at the mo I’m growing autos I can be working towards this on the back bench)
I would be able to fit 6-8 BIG plants in that room without the veg tent in there.
I’m just going to hang wooden beams to the studs and hang the light from big old hooks and some metal chain. (Iv always wanted to use metal chain, I don’t know why) and I can use my current lights to power the extra space that isn’t covered by the big light. Boom. Plan
Update - Friday 14th May
Week has been much the same as all the other diaries. I've not had lots of time to spend at the grow so it's hard to know what to say. The ayahuasca purple from barneys is REALLY starting to put in the work in and stretch . Pistols are coming up everywhere
Update - 14th May
I have had a good week the buds are starting to put on some weight now and make my hand sticky after iv been checking them.
Think it should be really nice tbh!
Just realised I added an extra week by accident so these are actually week 10 photos but It won't let me delete a week because I'm in a contest! Whoops!
I really like this strain. Dutch passion have done really well with this auto. It’s quick to grow, I think 9 or so weeks from seed to harvesting around 107g of beautifully smelly, banana smelling kushy beauty.
Every time I open one of the jars it’s just banana but like that fake banana flavouring like those sweets or candy we have in the uk that are banana shaped and flavoured and it’s a weird sort of chemical banana. Smells like that. Is lovely.
