It varies from strain to strain, how bushy they grow and how short they are, if they're tall and stretching and there's plenty of space between nodes then don't do it. If you have a dence Bush full of leaves you can but don't have to pull some of. But you can abuse autoflowers as long as they are XL versions as they take longer to initiate flowering

I've been wondering the same thing. Seems to be a two sided opinion. Some say do, some say dont, although some seed breeders do recommend to exercise light de- foliations. I've decided to trim some on one and just tuck leaves out the way on others

I have been defoliating the auto in my grow-box regularly, and honestly need to, to keep humidity and airflow in check.. if you're growing inside the space-bucket, then i can imagine that will also be an issue for you at the later stages of the plant cycle, so it might even be a necessity.. just don't do too many leaves at once, but i have to say mine have never shown any signs of problems after defoliation.. i think it also depends on the genetics, and how strong the plant is, whether something like this will have a big impact or not. ..having said that i have also topped my autoflower, so removing leaves i something i do without even thinking about it ..

Never done autos but with my techniques removing leaves don't stress plant that much and removing leaves that are in the way is really helpful IMO. I like to give little foliar feed after defo with kelp and also humic -and fulvic acid and vitamins. Not sure if this helps in this situation but I think my girls look pretty happy. Im not sure how stressed your plants will be after leaf removal so like @DigiDOm said just in case take only few at a time

I don't like to remove them but if they're blocking bud sites or causing a problem with airflow then I'll get rid of them. With an auto, just make sure you only do a few at a time.
