Flushing?

Good afternoon! My diary is approaching the end weeks. Flowering period for Quick Critical+ is said to be 6 to 7 weeks. I am currently at the 33rd day from switching to 12/12 approaching the 5th week. 2/3 buds are starting to get brown hairs. When should I start flushing? 😄

I wouldn't look at the pistils (the hairs), but at the trichomes (with a magnifying glass).. they turn from clear, to milky and then to amber. Milky gives more of a head-high, while amber gives more of a body-high.. I personally prefer if about 5 to 10% are amber, while the rest are milky (not clear).. Since you're using hydro, it's sufficient to change the nutrient solution to water 2 or 3 days prior to harvest.. other mediums have to be "flushed" for longer (2 weeks for soil, about a week for coco), but given you're fully swapping the medium/reservoir, there's no real "flush" of the medium necessary.. If you use something like florakleen or flawless finish, then that can help a bit with removing any salt-buildup from the nutrients..

Forgot the more important question.. Get a jeweler's loup (30- 60x) Use color of trichomes to determine ripeness.. it is the most correlated option you have to final THC potency. Amber trichomes means the THCA is degredating, but you'll want some portion to be amber... debatable what's best. supposedly, greater portion of amber supposedly makes it more sedative... but, thc is an upper, you get tired when you come down for that reason. it will happen regardless.

RDWC? 1-2 days? It isn't even neccessary, unless something toxic is happening at end..maybe... probably doesn't help much with that either. you don't store excess carbohydrates just anywhere in your body, right? The plant doesn't store nutrients and energy just anywhere... it's where it should be... and if you don't overfeed, it's at a good concentration too. i think cutting before lights come on (or leaving them off until you wake up to harvest) is beneficial though. As it is hit with light, all sorts of processes ramp up in the plant. that's why you keep them dark after you cut them -- not just thc degredation, but the plants are still alive until they dry out. Any leaves hit by light will try to make use of photosynthetic energy while alive.

Hey :-) Look with a microscope 👌If the trichome heads are about 70% milky and 30% clear, you can start with the flush. If the trichomes are about 70% milky and 30% amber, it is a very good time to harvest 👍🙏🏻 but do not pay attention to the leaves of the trichomes on the buds 👍
