Stems turning purple is more about genetics and phosphorous transportation.. It doesn't mean a deficiency unless it happens in a different way.. A good way to tell if it's genetics is if it a "photo sensitive" reaction. Ie is the purple stems on the top? yup then nothing to worry about.. If you wanna experiment with this you can cover parts of the stem and you will see them turn green again. Lst later rather then sooner in my opinion.. Obviously you don't wanna lst a 3 footer but I'd wait a week or so.

red stems means generally a lack of phosphorous, if base contains enough of it maybe need more magnesium that increase P uptake; another possibility is a bit wrong pH

hi there, if you want to bend her over for LST, then you could start with it, yes.. in regards to the stems turning purple: this can be genetics, or if it's in the stem it could be a magnesium issue, in case of magnesium i would however also expect to see more other signs on the leaves.. I wouldn't worry about it, unless you also see other signs. if the leaves were turning purple, and not the stems it would most likely be a P deficiency.. happy growing
