first couple of weeks in coco i just keep it damp with a spray bottle - If you dampened the coco well before planting you should be ok for 2 - 3 days before another watering as they are big pots. tip: coco will dry on top pretty quick with HPS but does'nt mean it needs a full watering dig your finger in about an inch to see if still damp under top layer. Adding a layer of perlite about 2cm once the plant has formed around week 4 can stop the top coco drying out, also helps when you top water as stops the coco from being displaced and exposing roots. Plus helps keep fungus gnats under control as they cannot get to the coco to lay eggs. I would use the vegging light as long as you got temp and humidity sorted just for first week / 2 weeks. The HPS is going to dry out that coco quicker, plus saves a few dollars.

If they don't stretch, the light is enough -- If it provides a large enough footprint and intense enough light, of course. Save the electricity on the seedling, unless the internodal space is too large. you'll know quickly. Water like normal. PRobably use less fertilizer. In soil? Allow top 1" to dry... maybe 1/2" early on. Water fully with runoff to avoid possibility of buildup. If careful, you don't need to flush until end, if you choose to do so. The evaporation and how much the plant drinks will dictate how long between waterings... it'll slowly get faster as the plant grows more, but still likely every other day or so... 5+ gallon pot, so possibly 2-3 days with a more mature plant and 3-4 days early on. you have a big pot and a small plant. hopefully you don't have to fertilize early, but if you do make sure to spread nutes in a small radius around a small plant. you don't want to fertilize where no roots exist yet - especialyl in soil that already has some nutes to start.

h 5.8 water till you have 20% runoff start at 300 ppm, 0.6 ec and increase 100ppm every week till you reach 700 to 800 ppm. Feed, feed, ph water and add cal/mg when necessary. 600hps will be faster, keep it 24 inches from young ones, let them grow to 16 inches to the light then move back to 24, repeat. Hope this helps.
