DWC tripart soft formula - should i add calmag?

I'm using tripart soft formula from GHE for my DWC grow with RO water.
Should i add calmag? The producer says it shouldn't be added, but I can see that everybody does it.

No need to add it unless signs occur. I'm not sure why ghe would recommend not to use it, their products must contain it already then🌱👍

After adding perlite to soil to improve the drainage this happened and I am confused. Everywhere I read says over watering but soil it dry on the top couple inches. Maybe watering too often? I’m still really new and get quite panicky when it comes to over/under watering my plants. Advice appreciated.When do I add more water, currently when i poke my moisture meter in it reads dry for the first 2-3 inches, and then “moist” towards the bottom half of the pot, do I let the bottom half get dryer before adding? Using 5 gallon fabric pots with about 10” of soil in them.
