it's a young plant, save the money. MH is great for vege. This is 100% about footprint of light provided and you can cover more than 1 plant easily with either at this stage. use internodal spacing and strength of stem to determine optimal light height from canopy. adjust over time, make a little note of distance you used for seedling - transition to mature vege plant. it'll stay consistent from there. then, treat bloom like new ball game with only 12 hours of light. (if not autoflower, of course)

bloom - you want that hps going and the MH too. in your case with 1 plant, maybe just the hps is better. but if you ever need more coverage, it's an excellent option to have, and provides a more complete spectrum when both are in use. *more important in vege, in bloom it'll grow well either way.

Not sure what difference would be but I don't think would be enough to solve your issue. Can try one fan on bottom; one on top and create a fortex to blow heat out.

Hi I think both of those lights are going to be great for the plants. The MH tends to do better in veg versus hps in flowering. Unless you feel up to switching them 2 times so that you can run the MH for veg and hps for flower i would say leave it. The plants already getting acclimated to the higher heat and the MH light typically also is pretty warm. So I would decide based on how much additional setup and take down you feel like doing.

400 watt is sufficient if you cant control the heat. 400 watt needs to be much closer so i cant really say she would get much less heat. If you can setup an mextraction fan at the top and a intake at the bottom it should be enough to expell the heat from a 600 watt lamp. Would be better to run metal halide for vegging though.
