Looks like it might be a phosphorus deficiency I just dealt with this with gold leaf and I added bone meal 1-26-0 and seems to cure the problem.

Fabric pots dry root areas, unexplainable brown spots on mid to upper leaves. Make sure at least 20 to 30 % runs out after watering. Make sure the planters are good and heavy after watering. Let dry repeat. If you look for brown spots on leaves in the question are here,myou will always see fabric pots being used. Waste of nutes in my eyes

I had no problems just till today on 2 out of 4 trees. (only low humidity in germination, but they lived through)
