How many Watts needed ? Led or CFL ?

I have a 120x120x200 grow box and only 250w CFL dual spectrum light ( I know it’s not enough, newbie mistake), what would be the right amount of W I need for 4-5 plants ? Led or CFL what should I use ? Thank you !

Hey Floyd, how are ya buddy👋? I'm using Sanlight Lights, which have a broadband spectrum. From 400-760nm. To me as a LED Grower the only essential value would be the PPF. It means how many light parts, at a range of 400-760nm, can be used by your damsels. The amount of Watts is secondary. For example I have a homemade box 80x90x180. I'm using a Q4W for Veg., which has a Wattage of 150W (PPF:400micromol/s) and is strong enough to bring 6 Ladies through Veg. For Bloom I change to her bigger sister, which has a output of 215 W (PPF:580micromol/s) I produce quality mariujana in my basement with this lights. So forget about the wattage of the lights! Select a brand and have a peak on the technical data. Hope this will help you finding a deceision. Good luck Pal, have a good one! OimRausch

Or hid I know nothing about bulbs other then they suck... Nasa picks Led for indoor growing for a reason... listen to Nasa :).

But if you wanna yield close to Hps your gonna have to invest some money period.. Or get a 1000 watt hps bulb and get weights that way.

It's up to you Floyd... But four plants I was just running like 400 watts per plant I am trying 600 next.. like I could run 1 plant with 600w of leds, I am doing this right now but pay not attention to lux.. Lux is not a good way to measure anything other then how bright something is. if you can.. Find an Led is the 390-800nm range.. If you can find something with UVB your even better.. Depends on how much money you wanna spend or much much work you wanna put into it.. There is not "perfect number for watts for plants.. I plan on growing another plant with 125 watts of led. There is a lot of complex things going on and I don't wanna oversimplify something that is absolutely the X factor to growing Cannabis.

Привет, друг! 👋😇 Для вегетации подойдёт CFL на 500 W общей мощностью (максимум). Для цветения уже нужен Led или мультиспектр led или источник света с преобладанием красного спектра, общей мощностью 500 W. 👌 Полезно будет знать о своей освещенности! Ты можешь измерить освещенность (lux) в месте культивации над растением! Установи себе на свой смартфон бесплатное приложение из маркета "luxmeter", протри хорошо телефон со стороны экрана, очисти от жира и загрязнений. В экранной части находится датчик освещенности, который зачастую не уступает индивидуальным lux-метрам. Проверь освещенность над растением. Отрегулируй лампу по высоте, чтоб она и не грела растение до шоковых состояний, но и была в пределах диапазона lux. Установи приложение, ещё не раз меня вспоминать будешь, братан! Оно тебе будет как компас в освещенности! Диапазоны эффективной освещенности, начиная от посадки растения: 1 день (250-500lux) 2 день (500-1000lux) 3 день (1000-2000lux) после пяти пары листьев, полная вегетация (2000-20000lux) Цветение (20000-90000lux). В теории, самым оптимальным для цветения, считается (45000-65000lux). Старайся не задирать выше 90000 lux. Иначе – 100% проблемы из-за слишком активно проходящих процессов в растении! 👆 Удачи, бро! ✊😇
