I have just upgraded my lights to HPS from CFL and my phone camera doesn't like the light intensity. The pictures come out with light+dark stripes down them! Does anyone have a solution for this? 馃摳

It is caused by the light discharging in small bursts, faster than humans can detect/see, but the camera doesn't lie, the light does actually switch on and off rapidly, thousands of times a minute, maybe even every second, as the lights work on alternating current, meaning there is a brief time of no light/light/no light/light etc. This is why the dark stripes appear in pictures taken under either Metal Halide or High Pressure Sodium lamps. If you want "stripe-less" pictures, you will have to either take them with the flash switched on or take them under normal household lights. Hope this helps,...... Organoman.

I would say to take your pictures directly under sun light if possible. Hps lights are really strong and I dont think there is a trick to take good pictures under that light. You can also use your ald CFL to make like a picture setting and use that light for your pics. Hope it helped
