Ant nest in my pot

Hi. I found an ant nest in my pot while I was transplanting one of my auto in bigger pot with hundreds of eggs. I removed most of them manually, then watered the roots, trying to keep most soil as possible. Did it happen to one of you? How stressed you think my baby will be?

Your first question is from 4 weeks ago, with you "growing first time ever plants".. Sure, I'll believe you've repotted a lot of autos with no stress.

Stress doesn't mean it stops growing. It simply means, stress. - Yes, your question was about washing the roots. And since I've done it before, and therefore have experience with it, I answered your question ("washing the roots, definitely added stress to that"), and added the potting info. But since you didn't like the answer I gave you, you dismiss it as assumptions.

Well, all my reported auto plants continued to grow with the same grow profile than before the repot, when they were already flowering, they continued to flower (I had already one that I can say flowered faster after the repot). So, sorry if you were unlucky in repoting but never I was. You can actually find many reports from growers telling you the same. Of course, it's a risk if you need up but it never happened to me. My question was about having to wash the roots, for this I have no experience (I let anyway the maximum of soil I could) and am asking if someone had experience already with that, no assumptions please, thanks. 🙂

No you haven't.. You might think you have, but you haven't. All repots cause stress. - Especially autos don't like it when you mess with the roots. But since, "real feedback" is only words that tell you what you want to hear, I'll leave it at that.

I already successfully repot autos without bringing any stress. I am more worried because of the root washing, this is something I never did, but I felt it necessary in my case. Anyone else ever had to process a root wash with an auto and can give real feedback ? Many thanks in advance 🙂

Depending on what species of ant it was, it might have been beneficial to the plant. It's an auto, so the repot by itself, have caused it stress.. Washing the roots definitely added a lot of extra stress to that. - Next time you grow autos, start with the pot size you want to finish with, don't repot them.
