Any ideas to what might be causing these leaves to yellow/die? Only reasons I can think of are nutrient lockout, having the lights too close (although I've heard with CFLs theres pretty much no such thing as too close) or possible having the heater running, or constant fan air

hey there @420pete , what's going on is that the plant did her first vegetation stretch and canabalised itself looking for nutrients, specifically it's looking for N and Mg , that's Nitrogen and magnesium, you can tell from the yellowing in the bottom leaves (N deficiency) and the yellowing between the veins of the leaves (Magnesium deficiency), this happens all the time basically because the cannabis plant eats more magnesium than your average flower. The best thing you can do is pick up a cal-mag supplement they usually have nitrogen in them anyway. Use it as a feed and use it as a foliar spray aswell (6ml / L on the spray) if you spray it on once a day the plant should recover in 5 or 6 days no problem. Hope this helps brother ! 🚀

Hey there @420pete! Plants have 2 types of nutrients called mobile and immobile nutrients. Immobile nutrients CANT be moved around the plant and due to this the symptoms show directly on the newer growth where the deficiency is active. The other type of nutrient is Mobile. Mobile nutrients can be pulled from the lower leaves to be given to the newer growth up top as a survival method so they show symptoms on the bottom side of the plant first. You plant is showing sever signs of interveinal Chlorosis(yellowing) all over with the most sever symptoms on the bottom leafs. The Chlorosis on that bottom leaf that is heavy damaged looks like a textbook Nitrogen deficiency (N being mobile shows its deficiency at the bottom). While the upper leaves being effected look like a sever Magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is Immobile so the deficiency shows directly where the problem is (all over in this case). Due to Multiple Nutrient deficiencies My first question is are you adding nutrients? If not you will to start RIGHT NOW. However if you are adding nutrients then you problem is nutrient lockout being caused by the PH. Be sure to PH the water between 6-6.5 AFTER you add the nutrients into it! This should resolve your problems! If you have any other questions feel free to ask at any time! 😎

Hello ! Having the light too close can create a heat stress and make the plant yellowing on the top ( close from the cal) but the yellowing would not have been on the lower leaves. It not looking like a wind issue so no problem with your airflow. The heater is a good thing because you night temps are a bit too low. To me you can see the leaves of your planf are starting to have a deficiency , you can see a lighter green on the edges of your leaves than in the middle. In fact I don't bet on a nutrient lockout but on a lack of nutrients, she looks like she needs Nitrogen, maybe cal mag too. I hope it will help you 😁✌️🏼

Hi, ive been looking through your Diary, and i saw a hugry plant from week 1 on. either your soil is very poor in nutrients, or, what i think your ph is wrong nd your plant cant absorb the nutrients from the soil. check ph of your soil, if correct start feeding your girl. If not correct, regulate the ph and then wait , the plant can get now nutrients. If shes still yellow after 3-4 days after correcting, feed her

Hey there so i agree that your plants are not getting something they need. Whether its just lack of nutrients or its because of ph well all only know if you correct 1 or the other and look for progress. Also regarding the cfls...i agree you can keep them very close, but that doesnt mean they cant still burn a plant either by touching or being overly close 0-3 inches. I had a plant get light burn at a distance of about 3-4 inches but i also had the lights on at 22-24 hours. They'll still generate some heat, just not as intense as other lights. Good luck with the problem solving, I hope you find a solution for the yellowing. Happy growing ✌️

Hi @420pete! A serious lack of Nitrogen during the previous weeks forced your plant to find nutrients in the leaves, because there was nothing to eat in the root-zone. If you're serious about growing, get an EC-meter and a pH-pen asap, these tools are not an option when it comes to feeding cannabis properly. Get some fertilizer and start with half of the recommended doses, then slowly increase nutrients intakes if plants are healthy with a beautiful green. Biobizz is a good brand to start with, fully organic and the schedule is pretty simple. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
