Hey when you get a bit of green on your dirt, that’s just algae. It won’t hurt the plant in any way. Just looks gross that’s all. You can move the top layer of dirt around so it will slow down the growth of it. Hope that helps and happy birthday

Usually when the tip of your dirt or coco turns green it’s an easy sign of watering too often. You should let your plant drink up most of the moisture in the medium before watering again. Give it a couple more days for the top later soil to dry out, this also will decrease your chances of getting algae, root rot, and/bugs. Good kick, hope I helped you out! 🌱
