Get yourself a small microscope. 50x zoom should suffice. - Think about the kind of high your want from your plant. If you want an energetic high, go with as many of the trichomes being clouded as possible. The less amber the better.. This earlier during flower. If you want a stoner, go for as many amber trichomes as possible. The more the better, letting the plant stay for as long as possible. - You can mix colour of trichomes as much as you want, depending on how much of a stoner you want tho. It's really up to your preferences when to harvest.. So think back at what you've smoked before, and what you've enjoyed the most. It'll be a good indicator going forward. - Clear trichomes however,, won't get you a high that's noticable. And some strains will start mmaking amber, well before all trichomes have started to become clouded. So it's also a little strain dependent.

Hey brother, don't cut anything, it's too early! But you're also not too far along. Never look at the leaves during flowering. Look at the flower when 80% to 90% of the trichomes are yellow and the flower is nice and big, then you can cut it.
