We need a surgery ???

I’ve almost snapped them off many times over the years, usually if it’s not to far gone you can tape the stem back together and prop the broken part up so it doesn’t hang. If you can join them back together good enough they will repair and come back to life. If you do this and it doesn’t come back to life or looks worse 24 afterwards then cut it off at the next node down with sharp scissors, and I like to put a piece of tape over the open stem after cutting it if it’s a larger one to seal it off.
