I grow in fabric pots. I use a old soldering iron or heat a nail in a flame and I melt a series of holes around the top of the pot. Those holes are great tie down positions when training. Then I use pipe cleaners, rubber coated landscape wire, twine... to tie branches to the holes. The nice thing versus using a net is you can pick up the pot and plant and move it around without disturbing your training.

I use #12 Solid copper wire. I use anchors for soil. Copper is a micro nutrition the plant uses so it is not harmful to plant in anyway. Plus reusable, and flexibility. I also use some cheap plastic clips off Amazon for parts not close to ground. They kinda suck and gotta double and triple up for my desired effect or close anyway. Good luck with finding what works for you. 🤜🤛🌱

Oh there are SO many things you can use! For my first time out, I used strips of soft cloth I cut, looped it around a stem and pinned it to my fabric pot when I had pulled the stem as far as I wanted... if you're not using fabric pots, you'd have to punch holes in your pot and thread the strips through them to tie them off... others use plastic coated plant wire, string, what-have-you... Now I'm using LST clips I bought from my local grow store that bend the stem at a 90-degree angle... I really like using them and they're reusable which is a big plus for me! You can use pretty much anything that will hold a stem in the position you want without harming the stem. Good luck! It's easier than you may think!

I've been using plastic coated wire from the garden center and some canes stuck in the pots to anchor them to.
