Defoliation - Auto

Hey guys, What do you think about defoliation? I’m growing two autos in one of my tents and they got huge. I wasn’t expecting. They are producing some buds in their lower parts and by consequence of the lack of light they are too small. Day 44 - Runtz Auto

Defoliation and stripping lower bud sites are two different things. OK to remove those lower sites so long as they are not at the end of flower. In that case you’re just removing higher final weight, even if it’s larf. Ok to remove older/larger obstructive fan leaves blocking light to bud sites. I swear by defol...but early in flower for anything coordinated and only selective defol thru late flower. Have a plan, stick to it. Next grow try removing those lower sites early in flower. Will help encourage that top growth to bulk up. It’s all about learning and growing, pun intended. Good luck

My advice is to only remove yellow leaves. Each healthy green leaf is producing energy, energy your plants needs to grow her flowers. Less green healthy leaves = less energy produced = less/smaller flowers. It is that simple. Try a bit of gentle "lollipopping" if you are overly concerned with the smaller inner flowers, but try to leave any healthy green leaves, even the lower ones in shade. Autos really don't like being messed with. Hope this helps.... Organoman.
