My auto seedlings are short, is the light too close or is it the temperature?

So I’m running the spider farmer SF 2000 LED. great in the summer as it puts off very little heat. Winter time here in Seattle now and my wife won’t let me turn the heat up to past 70. My seedlings are in great soil with domes, but think the temp is stunting them. Suggestions?

@trilliumtrichomes - now that shit was funny👆🤣🤣🤣. In all seriousness though dude, I think ur stress’n the details too early in the game. You got a few seedlings that are just starting out so kinda hard to tell just yet what they may or may not need. You’re climate and current environment suggest that all things are fairly optimal and no need to make any changes (although a space heater is a big help when needed. I use a small heat buddy when it’s too cold inside the box and it’s perfect for a 3x3 tent the size of a broom closet). There is one element that I would address now however and that’s your light. I run a couple SFs as well and my first suggestion is drop it down now to about 24” and crank that dimmer back up to 100%. These are terrific veg. Fixtures and I’ve never personally had need to mess with the dimmer function. I also have em I n lower headroom and run them consistently at about 16-18” in all stages - no issues. Your seedlings are just starting on those first two leaves so it’s the perfect time to start hitt’n em with all the light they can take. Although I’m not a fan of running a 24 hour straight light cycle without a break - to each their own. I usually run my auto cycles on a 20/4 light sched. Just to avoid any potential stress issues. Best I got for u dude - good luck with the grow👍😎👊

Hahah bro my landlord is the same; cold soil can be good for the off light cycle. You can see my temps they are low as hell, can you put a fan blowing down on the SF ? That’s how I keep my tent warm in the day and at night I keep a lava lamp running covered in tinfoil. My tent stays around 78, right before the plants go to bed they heat up for the night it’s so cute I have to turn off the lava lamp for a bit and then back on in the middle of the night. Just make sure your not making a swamp cooler and bringing that tent lower than ambient. I found when I stopped heating the medium with heat pad but focused on the ghetto ceramic lava lamp heater my growth exploded! ✌️

They are making roots. I would lower the light to 24 inches. Looks like you gave them a good watering. You shouldn't have to water them for 3-4 days. You can keep the domes on to help keep some heat in. Maybe take it off once a day and blow on them to give them a wiggle.

Autos actually don't mind the cold that much 70 should be fine. Is this your first Autoflower run? They usually stay small first as they focus on root production then shoot up and out. 🤘😤

Put a space heater in the room with your tent. Or, alternatively, man up, walk over to the thermostat, raise the temp while keeping eye contact with her and finish by telling her what to make for dinner.
