Mold ? Dry ?

Hey I have been drying my weed for 3 weeks, it is very dry, I am counting on putting them in glass jars with an orange peel. I find that the smell does not smell strongly and its fingers are not too sticky. I think I see mildew or is it the purple variety doing it? Thank

I'm a newbie, but I can tell u that veggie peelings work wonders for overdry weed (like if u tried to crush it, it would turn to dust), but if u leave it for more than a day or so, the weed will begin at mold. I put in some carrot shavings and forgot about them, and ruined like 5 oz of bud. I was devastated and had no choice but to toss it, unfortunately. My guy told me definitely not to smoke any of it, so I flsuehd it. I'd buy those humidity packs they sell in different sizes, depending on the size of the container you're storing your bud in. I'd do that, bc those things are meant specially to keep the weed from getting too, too dry. I would think that maybe vacuum sealing it as well might also do the trick, just an idea. Just my 2 cents.

Leaving leaves on will in no way affect the smell. I only trim my flowers right before using them, the leaves stop the trichomes from being rubbed off. The lack of smell is usually the result of over dried flowers. Unfortunately, once its gone, its gone. If you still have some plants growing, put a couple of fresh leaves into the jars with the buds, this way after 12-36 hours, the buds will soften up but not taste/smell like orange peel. You can do the same thing with moist paper towel if you have not got any fresh leaves and do not want orange peel buds. Whichever way, don't leave anything in the jar too long, otherwise you will have to dry the buds out again, destroying even more terpenes and increasing trichome loss through handling. It is far easier to remove the moist item too early then re-do with extra moistening. A tip, when you can feel the top buds in the jars are moist, remove the orange peel or whatever, seal the jar again and check again the next day. This gives the moisture time to disperse throughout the entire jarful of buds and will be a truer indication of how moist all the buds really are. Hope this helps,.... Organoman.

Looks like a few pieces may have begun to mold. You'll know by the way it feels. Molded stuff is soft and squishy. Just jar it with a humidity pack or tortilla imo to save what terps u can. 🤘😤

Why did you dry for so long? 7-10 days should be all you need, drying room should be 55% humidity with 68 degrees F as the temp. Trim em up and put them in glass jars with a boveda humi pack, its not going to be as good as if you had dried it properly, but it is what it is. Happy growing.

Yo mate, I think that your buds aren’t smelling like they’re supposed to because of the way you manicured it. There’s too much leaves on it in my opinion. I think that you might wanna re-trim at least some buds. And then as you say the orange peel technique might be a good option ! Keep growing !
