Emerson effect ? Thoughts on if theres a true ability in boosting photosynthesis with the red/far red/infared, asking from people that have deliberately experimented with this .

Okay there is no comprehensive information available saying anything that far red increases yield (in late flower phases).. I have been told Having far red during certain late phases can hurt the plant. And in cases where you are able to control or adjust the spectrum.. Iv'e heard/read to lower the red in the last few weeks and up the UVB. The information was from California Light Works and also from a regular grower not a Forum. The effective growing range is 400-700nm and there is no Argument from any researching group or data that would contradict that. Increasing yields has more to do with Effective Umol or PPFD. Adding a ton of red for example could be a negative but given the correct parameters should be a positive. But maybe turn off the extra red late into flower. The most effective way to increase yield is growing in between the 400-700nm. Ideally you would want a grow light where you can Control the Spectrum of your lights and adjust/control the amount of Blue/red.. Here's a link to LEDs that are top bin and super expensive. https://www.thinkgrowled.com/ Here's a link to LEDS that are lower bin and more affordable.(I use these lights to great success) https://www.parfactworks.com/collections/led-grow-light Some grow light info. www.youtube.com/watch www.youtube.com/watch

I'm not totally sure about it but since this effect takes place when using far-red lights (680-720nm) then the far-red diodes already implemented in most LEDs contribute to this effect! Although I've read that the difference is insignificant I haven't experimented with that specific parameter so can't tell you for sure. Here is a link to another site discussing the same topic with great explanations about it: https://forum.growweedeasy.com/forum/growing-community/312065-emmerson-effect Hope this helps! Good luck and happy growing :)
