In my experience as an avid breeder, 4 weeks minimum and 5 weeks optimum. Any much longer and you risk them falling out onto the ground. You will know when they are mature, the calyxes will split open and you will be able to see the shiny brown seed coat lurking within. Otherwise you can pick the odd swollen calyx and examine the seed inside to gauge the seeds' maturity. It can take a little bit longer if growing outdoors and the nights are getting cooler. Plants carrying seeds need to be kept quite moist and relatively well fed to produce viable, healthy and mature seeds. If you go to my diary "Holy Mackerel" there is a picture there of some nearly ripe/mature seeds that are showing through the split calyx and this may help you understand what to look for with your own plant. Hope this helps,.. Organoman.
